I had my car in to evaluate a coolant leak. During the visit, they found both an oil and coolant leak. It was also due for routine maintenance. Instead of checking with me first to see if I would even want to bother fixing the car, given the $8000 price tag on repairs, they proceeded to do the routine maintenance at a cost of $2000. Ultimately, I decided not to repair it because the car just wasn’t worth it, but unfortunately, I was out $2000 for changing the oil and some filters despite the fact that I will now be getting rid of it. It would be nice if they would have notified me of the need for significant repairs before wasting my money on a car that I will not own for long. More
