My emergency light came on indicating that my tires were under inflated. I drove the car to the dealership after the service department had closed on a Sat. evening. Within a second, Danny drove my car to a gas station and filled the tires with air so it would be safe for me to drive until I could bring it back. I thought that was amazing!!! More
The service department at Rockville Audi is horrible!!! My service consultant assigned never kept me informed on the work that needed to be done nor presented the knowledge of what needed to be done for th My service consultant assigned never kept me informed on the work that needed to be done nor presented the knowledge of what needed to be done for the servicing of my car. I constantly had to call to check the status of when service would be completed. Never once did I receive a call back. Significant time was wasted dealing with this dealership. I even escalated my concerns to Quinn Burroughs who is the "Service Director"... what an arrogant piece of work he is to condone the behavior of customer neglect of his department!! More
Summary – polite, convenient to metro. On the big 3 of cost speed and quality Rockville Audi goes 0 for 3. I spoke the the service manager before bringing my car in to advise him that I would be posting my opinions online and asked him if he wanted my business. He said sure. Mistake #1. Brought my 2001 Audi TT with less than 40,000 miles in because the auto top mechanism did not work properly, PLUS I wanted to repair the loose back window. Also wanted general maintenance. I said I was in no hurry and they could take a week. In summary, in 10 days, I never had my car mechanically looked at, I only got an estimate for the top replacement ($850) but not for the mechanism repair since no one looked at it (except that it would be $1400+ to replace) – so I did not have enough info for a decision. In 10 days! So I went to a local mechanic for the 40,000 mile service (not Audi of Rockville) who changed the oil/filter, changed plugs and told me that he couldn’t change the differential oil since he didn’t have the parts so I should go to the dealer. A couple of months later I went back to Rockville Audi and had him replace the top for $850 and the differential oil for 250 or so. He recommended I also get new tires for $1150 and do other repairs (oil leak) of $1100 (no way). When I got the car home I discovered the defroster did not work. Brought the car back (after calling) and 3 days later was told that they could not fix the defroster without replacing the whole top. That info earlier would have saved me a trip. Did I mention I live in WV and it is 80 miles to the dealership? And that I called every time to find out if the car was ready? Instead of listening to the dealer, I got 4 new highest rated (by CR) ultra hi-performance tires from Tire Rack for $440 including delivery and installation. I’ll find another mechanic to take care of the minor leak later – anyone recommend a Rockville Audi mechanic? Don’t go to Rockville Audi. I love my TT but doubt I will buy another Audi – ever – based on this experience. Two stars instead of one because the driver who took me to the metro was charming, and they did not steal anything or “cheat” me. Also note - I called a recommended Aiudi dealer in Virginia and his estimates were almost as high as Rockville Audi.So it is not just this dealer, but dealers (or at least Audi dealers) in general (with a few exceptions) who are overpriced. Note also that while waiting on one occasion I looked at an Audi in new cars, and on another at a Porsche, and salespeople opened the car door for me but took off since they were busy. I had much better service at Mini of Alexandria in 2009-2011, (for my 2009 Mini under warranty). And one more note - Max the service rep seemed like a nice enough guy and usually got back to me within a day but bottom line is results More
I bought a used Audi A4 Cabriolet from this dealer in 2007 and for the first two years I was so THRILLED with the service...I was a raving fan. About two years ago they completely replaced the service de 2007 and for the first two years I was so THRILLED with the service...I was a raving fan. About two years ago they completely replaced the service department and it has been downhill ever since. My routine service visits are painful, painful, painful. One specific incident is the perfect example of the problems I've encountered. After having a crack in my windshield, I decided to have it replaced at the dealer to have genuine Audi parts and not have to deal with some fly-by-night operation in my driveway. Turns out, Rockville Audi subcontracts a fly-by-night operation in their driveway who actually dented and scraped the hood of my car. Fortunately I noticed it and wouldn't leave the dealer until I received a commitment that they would fix it. There were other scrapes inside the car that I was not able to "prove" to them weren't there before the subcontractor took a crowbar to my dashboard, so I was out of luck on that. I was without my car for a week while it was at the body shop and when it came back the trim was not reattached correctly. They promised to fix it, but the lame subcontractor was going to re-do the work and I insisted that they be supervised so the didn't damage my car again. I've tried to reschedule this work multiple times with no success - the dealer has ZERO motivation to make me happy at this point - they are not making any money off the transaction and they have to coordinate with the lame contractor, which I'm sure is their least favorite thing to do. My service coordinator through all this is Max, who is young and severely underskilled for his job at a luxury car dealer. I've gotten sympathy from the service director and the general manager of the dealership, but it doesn't seem to make anything happen faster. I relish the day I purchase my next convertible so I can tell Rockville Audi I bought from someone else because they suck so badly. Luxury car dealer, high price, low service. You DON'T get what you pay for. More
Not enough can be said about good customer service! We have all had bad experiences but I had a good one. I went in for service. (I had an inspection ticket due that day) and they could not get me in. I t have all had bad experiences but I had a good one. I went in for service. (I had an inspection ticket due that day) and they could not get me in. I took a stab at asking the parts people about the light bulb I needed. The parts person, Mike helped me and even told me how to put it in. Thanks for saving me $90.00 (Possibly) for the repair and getting me out of a jam. I have had my car serviced there may times and have been very happy. A little patience will get you better results! Top 10 in my book! More
