When you have an issue with your car, this dealership is horrible. We left feeling like we had been dealing with stereotypical used car salesmen after trying to get help with a defective spare tire compress horrible. We left feeling like we had been dealing with stereotypical used car salesmen after trying to get help with a defective spare tire compressor (Audi packs an uninflated donut and a compressor). After years of BMW experiences, we foolishly thought Audi would be on par. Perhaps other dealers are but Rochester Hills Audi was not. More
I never write reviews (this is my first), but it is only because of the very unfair way I have been treated. I am out $2,500 for service work that I was told would be covered. I was convinced by the deal because of the very unfair way I have been treated. I am out $2,500 for service work that I was told would be covered. I was convinced by the dealer that my 2013 S6 had a known Audi design problem that could destroy my twin turbo on 2013 S6's around the mileage that mine had. I was out of warranty, and I was told it would be $15,000 to fix if my turbo was damaged by this flaw. However, Audi had come up with a repair kit to bring my turbo up to the new design that Audi came up with to correct this problem. That Audi fix to keep their design flaw from ruining my turbo would cost me $2,500. I wasn't thrilled and asked why this wasn't a recall item. Their response was, "Sorry, it is not a recall item, however, if it does become a recall item, you will be reimbursed the $2,500". Well, I searched online for my vehicle type, and sure enough, there were many unhappy vehicle owners forced to replace their twin turbos because of this design flaw. I decided to have the dealer do the work knowing that if and when it became a recall item, I would be reimbursed. I didn't want to have a 15k bill in the future due to their flaw. A year later, this flaw became a recall item. I received a letter in the mail saying that the upgrade would be done for free, or if I had spent any money to fix any damage, that amount would be reimbursed. So all of those unhappy Audi owners that had to replace their twin turbos are getting their bills paid. I have spent two months trying to work with Audi of America and Audi of Rochester Hills (My dealer), and I was originally told "We just need to see your proof of payment". That turned into, "We are sorry, but you elected to do that service yourself, so we are not going to reimburse you any of that amount." Really? If I did nothing, I would either have the recall design fix upgrade for free, or if my turbo exploded, they would now reimburse my $15,000. However, because I did what I was recommended to do by the dealer, and was told I would be reimbursed, I am out of luck. After calmly discussing/emailing with 4 individuals over two months, nothing. Not even a good will free oil change (not that the free oil change would suffice), but at least it is a bit of an olive branch. I love my S6, and I truly really loved my experiences with the service guys and the dealership. I felt like I was always treated so well compared to other American brand dealerships. I often bragging to my friends and family about how after you go Audi, you will always go Audi. Well, the principal of this has really turned me off. Not only has this bait and switch caused me to write my first review, but I am reviewing my options for litigation which would also be a first for me. I think the dealership and Audi have a great product and put on a good face, but they truly do not care about promises made, or doing right on something as obvious as this. Very disappointed that I know have to find another brand that I can fall in love with! More
Sunday October 31st, I dropped my 2012 S5 off at the dealer using their overnight drop box. Called them Monday November 1st around 10:30 AM to fill them in on what's going on and to get a game plan put dealer using their overnight drop box. Called them Monday November 1st around 10:30 AM to fill them in on what's going on and to get a game plan put together for my car. Unfortunately, I had the displeasure of talking to service advisor Jonathan. His communication skills are a solid 0 out of 10, and I’m honestly surprised he has a job. Jonathan said that they should be able to diagnose my car that day(Monday 11-1-21) and if not the latest I would hear back from him is the next day(Tuesday 11-2-21). I did not hear from him Tuesday, nor did I on Wednesday, and nor did I on Thursday. I gave it till about noon on Friday(11-5-21) and I called him. Some service assistant answered the phone. Said Jonathan would call me back in the next 10 minutes. About an hour later Jonathan called me, my favorite part is that he acted like he wasn't supposed to call me 4 days ago. Literally no care at all for his customers. He told me that I had a thermostat leak and the next step is to get with my Warranty company to get it approved. So, I gave him a couple hours and never heard anything back. I called him again asking what's going on, this is about 3pm now. And now this is actually my favorite thing he said. "Yeah I was on hold for about 10-15 minutes and that's all the time I had so I hung up." This guy doesn't have more than 15 minutes to take care of his customers? Yikes. So, he claimed that he was going to try and call again. Gave it a couple hours and never heard back. I called Dave the service manager around 5:30-5:45. Surprisingly he called me back the same day about 20 minutes later. The sad part is, he was backing this Jonathan guy that hasn't done anything for me. Didn't care that the guy just never called me over multiple days. Told me that Warranty companies are really hard to get a hold of. And then he tries to strong arm me and said they will not do the work unless the warranty company covers what they quoted. This guy hasn’t even spoke to the warranty company yet. $1,400 for a thermostat leak was the quote I might add. So, Dave says I’ll hear from them Monday morning. Monday(11-8-21) morning comes, and no call. Jonathan calls me Monday afternoon to tell me that the work is covered but they’ve been going back and forth with the warranty company on labor cost. Told me if all goes well my car will be fixed and done the very next day on Tuesday(11-9-21). I gave this man literally all-day Tuesday and not one time did he reach out. Wednesday(11-10-21) I called Jonathan 3 times between 9 am and Noon. He called me back at 1pm and told me “Good Morning”. LOL Told me that they’re charging 7.5 hours of labor to replace my thermostat and the warranty company is only covering 5.2 hours. Told Jonathan to give me an hour or so and I’ll call back. I called back about an hour later, and someone picked up and said that Jonathan actually just left and he’s gone for the next week. But they would have the manager Dave call me back shortly after his meeting. Gave it a couple hours and never heard from Dave. Tried to call the stores GM Elie, and of course he didn’t answer so I left him a message of what’s been going on. So Dave calls me 20 minutes before they close. Even let me know that the GM Elie mentioned to him that he got my message. But not even the GM could reach back out to me though. Elie clearly doesn’t know his service department is so uncapable of the most basic tasks. But Dave tells me sorry I’ve had a bad experience but offered no help to get the situation resolved. At this point the $180 is so worth never dealing with these clowns again. I picked up my car the next morning(Today 11-11-21) paid my $180 diagnosis fee and took it to VAST Performance in Ferndale. By 2pm they let me know that I indeed had a thermostat leak, and that my water pump needed to be replaced also(Something this dealer never mentioned). By 2pm they also already had everything covered under warranty, and I’ll have my car back tomorrow. PLEASE save yourself the time, money, and the headache and avoid this place. Call VAST Performance, only about 25 minutes south of this xxxx hole dealership. More

Agree Strongly with Houdini. Terrible Service. Regret leaving my car there for Recall Issue where car could catch on fire. Would rather take chance of car catching on fire than leave it with this place. leaving my car there for Recall Issue where car could catch on fire. Awful service with a scam Awful. In 3 years i have never had my vehicle ready on time once. Routinely audi will lie to your face on the status of your car and the only true way Awful. In 3 years i have never had my vehicle ready on time once. Routinely audi will lie to your face on the status of your car and the only true way to know is by busting into the service area past the staff and look for yourself. If you leave your car for service, they wont even begin the service until you arrive to pick it back up. They will then lie and say its almost done, minor last details. Every. Single. Appointment. I have left my car here for 2 days, to show up when THEY TOLD ME, to find my car not even started work. Ridiculous service that will push you to leave audi for any other brand. Worst service i have ever encountered from a dealership. And thats not to mention how they do not even fix all the issues. I brought my vehicle in last time to have 3 areas serviced, when i showed up, all they thought they were doing was an oil change, and i had to come back and leave my vehicle again, pay more, waste more of my own time just so the original issues can be dealt with. No help when you really need it If you are going in for routine maintenance they are fine, but if you have an real issue they are sub-par, it reminds me of going to a dealer back in If you are going in for routine maintenance they are fine, but if you have an real issue they are sub-par, it reminds me of going to a dealer back in the 80's , they just want to blow you off. I had a sensor go out after 2 years +/- of ownership and I had to take it back twice to get that resolved. (I live 43 miles from them btw) This year I had a major problem, Rodents chewed my wiring harness up , when I took it Audi of Rochester Hills (I purchased this car, new from them in 2014), they charged me $780 to diagnose the problem. If you do not know, this is animal damage so it is covered under your comprehensive insurance, like hitting a deer would be. Johnny Manoviec was my service adviser, he was of no use when contacted by my insurance adjuster, who was trying to get an estimate for the repair. He would not return calls, nor would he provide the needed info, so I called the Service Manager twice, no results, I called and tried to talk to the owner of the Dealership, they would not connect me to him. I asked for the General Manager, who never returned my call. I ended up going to Audi Farmington Hills, it was like night and day. I worked with Trent, who is extremely helpful. Even though I did not buy my car from Farmington, I was treated like I did. Their service department runs at a much higher standard than Audi of Rochester Hills. So a great big NO to Audi of Rochester Hills ! I will never do business with them again ! More
