Hi Adam, I am very familiar with this transaction and I can see why this was confusing. My Dealership participates in the DealerRater Certified Dealer Program. We are committed to providing high quality customer service, but based on your DealerRater review, you did not share that experience. I hope you accept my apology. As it turns out when we communicated with the other dealer about trading for the car you requested. we erroneously gave them the wrong commission number. When my dealer trade manager sent the request to the dealer who actually had the vehicle, he entered some of the numbers that are used in identifying one vehicle from another erroneously. When the other dealer told us that the car was available and we could have it, it was not the car we intended to inquire about but did not immediately realize it. In fact, it wasn't even an A6. Once the error was discovered, we went through an exhaustive search to secure a car for you but there simply was not another Daytona Gray with a Nougat Brown interior available in stock anywhere in the east that showed as available. To illustrate what transpired, please check your inbox, I have sent you our email to the originating dealer and their response telling us that the car was not available for trade. You will also notice that your buyers order is dated October 20th. The email we eventually sent with the correct commission # did not go out until the 24th when we discovered we had gotten the wrong vehicle. After we informed you of the mishap, we were under the impression that you agreed to consider one of the other color choices you gave us (Quartz Gray) and, for your inconvenience, we adjusted the price as a gesture of goodwill. We then went and bought that car specifically for you (it is still here). As I am writing to you I searched again and confirmed that there are still no Daytona Gray with Nougat Brown A6 3.0's that are unsold and immediately available. The search DOES indicate that the dealer you are speaking of has one in stock, but it is now marked as sold. Apparently purchased by you. That was not the case when you initially visited us. We clearly made an error, but it was just that, an error. I assure you there was no deliberate intent to mislead you. Ivan is a commissioned salesperson and derives no benefit from an unsatisfied customer. In fact, in this case, the exact opposite resulted. The saddest part is that HE did not even make the error, he was simply the messenger. While Ivan has been in the industry for many years, he is only in America a little over a month. As you already know, he feels terrible about this and he genuinely hopes one day to have the opportunity to win back your confidence. Once again I apologize for our error.
