Recall service My Q3 has had 3 recalls. This time two were to be taken care of during this visit. I brought the car in on Aug 22 prepared to wait for the service wor My Q3 has had 3 recalls. This time two were to be taken care of during this visit. I brought the car in on Aug 22 prepared to wait for the service work. About a half hour or so, I was told there was a problem with the ABS module and had I noticed any issues. I had not. The problem was that the part had to be ordered from Germany so I would have to leave the car. I was given a loner Q3 and went on my way. I checked back periodically to see how things were going and was finally told it was ready on Aug. 29th. However, I could not get over there until mid-day on Friday, Aug.30th. I picked up my Q3 on Friday, Aug. 22nd. I mentioned that the left rear tire on the loner was losing air. I had to fill it twice. They said they would check it. That they charge 39.95 to repair a tire. I said I would come get the tire and take it to Discount Tires as they fixed my other car's tire for free that morning. I didn't hear anymore about the tire. My wife and I got in our car (it appeared to have sat out all night - definitely didn't look freshly washed that day) and left. We had planned to stop at the nearby Costco. I noticed that the brakes were very mushy. When I got to Costco, I called and was told to bring it back to have it checked. It turned out that the brakes needed bleeding and I would have to leave the car again. I was asked if I wanted it back that day or to wait until Tuesday after Labor Day. I wanted to get my car back so they told the service people to get on it. Since the Q3 I had just dropped off had a tire problem, I was given an A3 sedan for a loner. By now it is afternoon and I am not looking forward to coming back later in the day. I finally got a call around 3:00 pm that the car was ready. I live in Salmon Creek Washington. It took 45 minutes to get back there ( normally not more than a half hour at the most). I picked up may car, checked the brakes (they worked now) and spent one and a half hours getting back home due to all the holiday traffic. My concern is why, after having the car for over 8 days, someone hadn't checked the brakes. If the car had really been ready, I would have been spared all the frustration getting there and back. I appreciate that a loner was provided while the recall work was being completed. I am frustrated that someone didn't double check the vehicle before saying it was ready, especially with as serious a potential safety issue as properly working brakes. Someone unfamiliar with automobile characteristics (such as my wife) might not have realized something was wrong with the brakes possibly leading to an accident. Seems like I should get a free oil change of something for the experience. Sadly, I have been very sorry that I ever purchased an Audi. Originally, I purchased a Q5 from Bellevue Audi that had no Tech package. That was a joke. I assumed that Audi would at least have as modern of technology as the average Volkswagen or Subaru. I traded the Q5 in at the Beaverton store for the Q3 since I could not get enough value for the Q5 at the Mercedes dealer. I have driven some type of Mercedes since 1965 so going to Audi was a big move and mistake. Even with the tech package in the Q3 it is still very out of date for a 2017 vehicle at the price Audi charges. I am glad to have MY vehicle back. It seems to be working OK. It is still noisy, small and gets lousy mileage, but that is what you get for $45,000 from Audi. Thanks, Russ Erdman More
