I have an Audi A4 that I took in this April because the Check Engine light was on. They diagnosed and all they said I needed was a hose repaired. Okayed that. Light came back on within 20 miles. Since Check Engine light was on. They diagnosed and all they said I needed was a hose repaired. Okayed that. Light came back on within 20 miles. Since the car was running fine and the diagnosis didn't turn up anything else, I figured I would wait to have it fixed or looked at another time. So, the car didn't pass emissions inspection about a week ago. Took the car back to Audi of Alexandria on Wednesday at 10 AM. I had an appointment. They didn't get back to me until that afternoon that they were still looking at it. This is cardealerspeak for we haven't even put the thing on the computer yet. A diagnosis takes very little time. I called on Thursday mid day and in the later afternoon. Brad wouldn't return my calls and finally they told me he had left for the day. I demanded to speak to the manager on duty. He didn't know what to tell me but I demanded to have the diagnosis for free because of already being there in April and not having the issue addressed to satisfaction. So......it is no Friday evening and I'm without a car. I forced them to take it to Audi of Tysons so hopefully a larger dealer with a better reputation can fix the car. It only has 45,000 miles on it so I'm not sure what the issue is, but I'll never do business or encourage anyone else to do business with this dealer. Thank goodness I have a viable alternative to turn to in the metro DC area or I'd never buy an Audi again. More
Best service department for Audi anywhere in the beltway area. The staff is friendly and really knowledgeable when it comes to these cars. The Audi Q7 which in particular needs special attention. My wife area. The staff is friendly and really knowledgeable when it comes to these cars. The Audi Q7 which in particular needs special attention. My wife loves this SUV and takes pride in driving it. Every time we take it to Audi of Alexandria we know its in good hands. The price is reasonable and the money worth the peace of mind. More
I bought a brand new Audi A5 from Audi of Alexandria last month. The salesman was great at explaining the features of the car. I think he was as exited as I was about helping me buy the car. Very positive month. The salesman was great at explaining the features of the car. I think he was as exited as I was about helping me buy the car. Very positive energy and character in the sales staff, when I met the GM Sammy, I realized why that is. Two weeks later...I noticed a "door ding" I was angry!! The car is perfect! But now with a scar, I couldnt get it out of my mind. I called the dealership and spoke to Sammie, he had me bring in the car and fixed this door ding at no charge at all. Now that is the Audi of Alexandria Experience!!! Five stars, and 4 thumbs up!! More
I was given the cost for the repair over the phone and approved the repair. On the way to pick up the car I received a phone call that the car was ready and the repair was an additional $160 greater than approved the repair. On the way to pick up the car I received a phone call that the car was ready and the repair was an additional $160 greater than the estimate, with some explanation that another part was needed. I felt taken advantage of since I was not informed prior to the repair that an additional part was needed. Additionally, I called several times and left messages to discuss this issue, but my call was not returned. My daughter took the car back two days later regarding a light that was on that we thought was repaired, but during that visit was told the CV boot, opposite the one repaired two days before was now needing repair, when asked why it was not repaired during the week it was in the shop, she was told it was not seen, and probably happened after she left the shop. Really concerned with the response, length it took (10 phone calls on my part) to get and response and way the I was treated. I am also concerned that the boot opposite the side repaired was not examined and with the weak explanation given. As a woman I don't know a lot about cars, but I know when I've been taken for a ride. More
We brought in a 2006 A4 convertible with a damaged convertible top. After a week in the shop and a repair bill of $1284 we moved to Alabama (about two weeks later). Unfortunately, we did not try lower convertible top. After a week in the shop and a repair bill of $1284 we moved to Alabama (about two weeks later). Unfortunately, we did not try lowering and raising the top until we were in Alabama. When we did so, we found that the top had significant new damage to the inner liner. We took it to Jack Ingram Motors in Montgomery, Alabama and they did a thorough examination and then showed us what was wrong. We and the Jack Ingram Service staff called Audi of Alexandria about the condition of the car, but Audi of Alexandria denied they had done anything wrong. In my opinion, that makes them either dishonest or incompetent. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I think they are incompetent. Of course, since they claimed they did nothing wrong, they refused to pay any of the second repair bill. Jack Ingram's staff,on the other hand, fixed everything and gave us a price break since the damage had been done by another Audi dealer. They made a customer for life. If we move back to the Washington DC area, we will certainly not patronize Audi of Alexandria. More
They just won't take a car that has been to any other dealer. The argument is that it will not be covered by the warranty. This is unbelievable, the other dealer is also an audi dealer. So, if you move, dealer. The argument is that it will not be covered by the warranty. This is unbelievable, the other dealer is also an audi dealer. So, if you move, you are out of warranty. In addition, the service person was not very welcoming on the phone. More
In the past I was an advocate for AUDI of Alexandria but my recent experience with the dealership's service department (and AUDI as a product) has turned me away from the car forever. Caveat Emptor, AUDI is my recent experience with the dealership's service department (and AUDI as a product) has turned me away from the car forever. Caveat Emptor, AUDI is a horribly produced car and has given me nothing but headaches since purchase. My most recent dealings with AofA left me without a car for three months as they could not or would not deal with my extended warranty company. While not completely their fault -- the warranty company was overly excessive in their demands for breakdowns on all parts and labor, down to each bolt -- AofA lost sight of the real issue, customer service. I was forced to borrow others' vehicles all summer last year while AofA and the warranty company went back and forth over work orders. I felt that nobody looked out for my interests at the dealership and because of it I suffered horribly in terms of personal time dedicated to acting as a middlemn. This should have been AofA's responsibility. I do not feel there was any deliberate malfeasance by AofA but the whole episode left me with a horrible taste in my mouth. Ultimately, their pitiful attempts to rectify the situation forced me to take over the process and go to the dealership personally to conduct a 3-way conference call between the dealer, warranty company, and myself. I bought my 2007 A3 here in early 2007. The purchase experience was reasonable enough, but the service after the fact has been abysmal. Audi of Alexandria REFUSED to install the audi accessory I-Pod ada experience was reasonable enough, but the service after the fact has been abysmal. Audi of Alexandria REFUSED to install the audi accessory I-Pod adapter. I had it installed at another dealer (an hour away from my home). After a few months, the Radio stopped getting reception (static all the time). I returned to my local dealer (Audi of Alexandria), and they told me that they could work on my Radio under warranty because the I-Pod adapter was the cause, and Audi factory accessories installed by a dealer are only warranteed at the DEALER THAT INSTALLED THE ACCESSORY. What if I had moved across country? I decided to live with a broken radio until my next major service, and since then have decided to sell the car (I've had it with Audi, I've taken this all the way to Audi USA, and had nothing but headaches). I decided that it would be BEST to sell a car with a working radio, and made and appointment at Audi of Alexandria for a final service (oil change, whistling sunroof, and minor driveline shimmy). I also told them I would pay to have the radio working, and to get started on it. They estimated 480 bucks to repair the radio, which I approved. They now have not yet completed the work (3rd day in the shop, originally promised 2 days), and they don't cover loaner cars (they use Hertz, not Audi) past 2 days. ARRGGGHH. They have systematically treated me poorly, overcharged me, and been disengenious. My experiences with this dealer have led me to sell my Audi and I must advise anyone looking at this dealer to avoid it. I also have lost faith in Audi USA, and will never purchase another Audi. More
Overall experience was appalingly bad. Took our car in Overall experience was appalingly bad. Took our car in for a tire balance and they said our serpentine belt needed replacing. They kept the car for 5 Overall experience was appalingly bad. Took our car in for a tire balance and they said our serpentine belt needed replacing. They kept the car for 5 days claiming problems negotiating with extended warranty company. When I contacted extended warranty people they informed me that Audi had not faxed over any paper work for them to review/pay on. When I informed the Audi dealer that they had slipped up on the pperwork, I received no apolgy but magically the car was suddenly ready in a few hours. When we picked up the car the bill presented to us was 25%more than the quote. When we asked why we were told to pay or they could not release the car. I was told to pay today and call for a refund tomorrow. No explanation was offered. What angered me more was in the pile of paperwork was a sheet which clearly showed the original lower quote. We were made to pull up our own car from the service lot, even though people in queue after us had their cars pulled up. I guess that was their way of expressing displeasure at a customer questioning their unethical practices. The following day trying to reach the manager I basically received the run around and till date no apology nor a refund. Today I "googled" this dealer and was shocked to see the number of complaints for fraudulent services and inflated repair bills. Do your research before being gauged by this unethical dealer. More
Dealership changed hands a few years ago and moved to a new location. Since then many old faces have left and the “feel" and professionalism of the dealership has deteriorated. The quality of service has new location. Since then many old faces have left and the “feel" and professionalism of the dealership has deteriorated. The quality of service has declined from superior to average because of staff changes and new procedures. Previously you discussed your car with the mechanics that did the work. Now you talk to a service writer who never sees your car. Dealership now just an average car dealership - a place to go to haggle for a car and get warranty repairs done. Not a place to go for post-warranty service/work as long as there are better independent shops from which to choose. More
