I called this place because I saw an ad for a 2009 Prius online that I was interested in seeing. I talked to a man named Harlan on the phone and when I told him that I could not get out there until about 7p online that I was interested in seeing. I talked to a man named Harlan on the phone and when I told him that I could not get out there until about 7pm (I live in Sacramento) he told me that he could stay there until 8 as though he was staying late as a personal favor to me (I later found out the place closes at 8 anyway). When I finally managed to drive out there Harlan came out to meet me and immediately started talking down to me like I was some kind of idiot and telling me that I had told him 7 and it was nearly 7:30. And when it became apparent that I was not going to buy a car from him that very day he wouldn't even let me take the car on a test drive and basically told me to get lost. Despite my terrible treatment at the hands of Harlan, I really liked the car I had seen and decided to try coming back a couple days later to see if I could still get the car from a different salesman, and this time I brought along a friend with me who had worked for years as a car salesman at a dealership in Folsom. I again drove all the way out to Auburn from Sacramento and was finally allowed to test drive the car I had wanted, and then I was introduced to another dealer by the name of Allen. When we went into his office he talked about how many years of experience he had in selling cars and when I asked him where else he had sold cars he told me "You don't need to know that". He also told us that he had already sold three other cars that day. Something my salesman friend thought was highly unlikely. I felt bullied by him as he insisted that there was now way he could go down more than a few hundred dollars from the 17.5K asking price. He told me that they had paid 16.8K for the car and thus could not possibly go down any further. I later found out that that was almost certainly a bold faced lie as the trade in price that my friend looked up later for that same car was only 14.5K. Also, despite all of Allen's insistence that they don't "wheel and deal" there and that that was the best price he could give me, minutes after I walked out the door they called me back saying they were willing to go down on the price. As a final insult, when I went online the very next day looking for another car I saw that the car that I had felt bullied and pressured into buying at the sticker price because they had paid so much for it had gone down in price several hundred dollars to 16.9K, a price I was told they could not possibly meet. NEVER BUY A CAR FROM MAGNUSSEN'S TOYOTA. It is full of liars and bullys who care nothing about their customers and just want to squeeze every last dime they can get out of you. More

After doing a few months of research and talking with probably over 20 dealerships from all over California and Nevada, I finally bought my new car at Magnussen's Auburn Toyota. I was pleased with Brando probably over 20 dealerships from all over California and Nevada, I finally bought my new car at Magnussen's Auburn Toyota. I was pleased with Brandon Gallawa's service, even returning emails while off work. He was able to meet my price and had a vehicle shipped in and prepared when I was ready to buy. Brandon offered honest responses to all of my questions and made sure that everything was final before I came into to the dealership to look at the vehicle. There were no surprises when I arrived to look at the vehicle and Brandon was more than helpful with any questions. The part I appreciated the most was that I never once felt pressured. I was able to look and ask questions at my own pace without ever feeling like I was moving too slow. It was a hassle free process without any problems. I would recommend Brandon Gallawa at Auburn Toyota to anyone looking for a hassle vehicle purchase. More
Rocky worked with us for several days via computer, answering question, explaining our alternatives in options and in pricing i.e. cash or financing. He was patient, forthright, and helpful at every answering question, explaining our alternatives in options and in pricing i.e. cash or financing. He was patient, forthright, and helpful at every juncture of the deal that we finally made on a 2012 Highlander, and the price was reasonable. We would recommend his services and the the services of Magnussen Toyota to all who are looking for a fair deal. Joe & Mary Berger, Colusa,CA More
Started out dealing w/Reno toyota ... BIG MISTAKE! Brandon had given me a better price from the start but I went to Reno for convenience. It turned out to be a major inconvenience. Went back to Brando Brandon had given me a better price from the start but I went to Reno for convenience. It turned out to be a major inconvenience. Went back to Brandon who honored a price quote given to me weeks before which was way better than Reno Toyota. I live in Tahoe, so going to the dealership to get my truck was not going to be easy. To avoid the hassle, the whole deal was done over the phone and the truck was delivered to me by two nice gentlemen ( one in a chase car ) , the paperwork was signed in 10 minutes, no extra charges were applied and they even filled the tank when they got to Tahoe! A great car buying experience and compared to Reno Toyota, it was a dream instead of a nightmare. If you live in Tahoe, avoid Reno and go directly to Auburn ( via the Internet like I did!) More
After being totally disgusted with another local Dealership I thought I would try Toyota based on their reputation. I am very glad I did. This was the absolute best experience I have had at a dealer Dealership I thought I would try Toyota based on their reputation. I am very glad I did. This was the absolute best experience I have had at a dealer and in speaking with the Service Manager Lee Rafferty he said they would work on any make or model. I highly recommend Auburn Toyota for anything you need done to your car. Another dealer totally misdiagnosed an expensive repair which as it turned out did not need to be done. The team at Auburn Toyota figured out exactly what needed to be done and then proceeded to complete the repairs quickly and precise. If I could I would invest in this Auto Dealership. It is defineately not the norm and I would send anyone to them with no reservation. Best, Wyler Furgeson Auburn, California More
Each time I have brought my 2010 Toyota Prius to Magnussen's (where I purchased it) they have always had some kind of confusion- they scheduled me but are not sure where the service guy is, they sch Magnussen's (where I purchased it) they have always had some kind of confusion- they scheduled me but are not sure where the service guy is, they schedule me for a half hour and I wait an hour, things like this. I had an appointment scheduled for the recall on the brake system and also to fix a chip in the windshield. When I made the appointment, they told me 9:30am and the windshield guy will be there as well and it should only take about a hour, hour and a half at the most. I am at my appointment, it was 9:30 and they tell me they didn't know if the windshield guy was aware of the appointment. They asked how long they could keep my vehicle (mind you, I am a busy person like the rest of us)and I told them I needed to pick it up at 11:30. They told me the earliest would be 12pm. Another incident, I scheduled an appointment to buff out some scratches on the hood of the Prius and (again) to fix chips in the windshield. The woman on the phone iinformed me that it should only take 15 minutes for the windshield guy to fix the chip and for the hood it would only take a half hour to 45 minutes. So I am asuming I will only be there an hour, maybe even an hour and a half but n more than that.I am waiting in the waiting area for about 20 minutes and Mr. Sack's informed me that it was going to take two hours to buff out the hood. I didn't have time for that, much less the patience to just sit in the waiting room- I didn't have a vehicle and they couldn't give me a vehicle to borrow for the rest of the day (at 2:30pm)- I have no idea why. I decided to leave and told Mr. Sacks I would have to do it another day because I do not have time for it. He let me leave and apologized and shamley handed me his card to call him when I wanted to schedule that. I gave him the look of disappointment as I drove around the lot. He was waiting for me at the exit and told me they could do there best to buff what they can at the time suggested. I was impressed until the detailer he brought out to fix the scratches came our wearing headphones in his ears, music so loud I could hear it, and ignoring me to the best of his ability. He wasn't even wearing a Toyota uniform- how do I not know that he wasn't some kid he pulled off the street t "buff" my hood of my car. This is a big enough business and I know Tony Toohey and I know he can do better than this with customer service. They need to inform the customer ahead of time as to how long hte service will take and what they can offer the customer (loaner car, for how long, etc). It shouldn't be every time I go in, that they make a mistake or there is SOME misunderstanding- the business has been around long enough that they should get it right the first time. Even the Collision Center does a way better job at handling their mistakes. More
After several attempts to repair my new toyota, Vic Corona and general manager refused to work on my vehicle and asked me to go to another service center. This effectively negated any warrenty work an Corona and general manager refused to work on my vehicle and asked me to go to another service center. This effectively negated any warrenty work and the usefullness of extended warrenty. The service received from this dealership made my new vehicle purchase and Toyota ownership a very bad experience.
