I purchased a new vehicle here in 2008. I was asked if I'd like to purchase the extended warranty which I did. In my opinion, they implied it was an extension of the Toyota bumper to bumper warranty. I'd like to purchase the extended warranty which I did. In my opinion, they implied it was an extension of the Toyota bumper to bumper warranty. My initial factory warranty just ran out. I had an issue and took the car in for service. I was told by their service department that they had sold me a third party warranty and that it wouldn't cover the car. This was not made clear; they implied the extended warranty to be an extension of the Toyota factory warranty. Not a third party warranty I could've bought later directly most probably for less. I paid $1400 for this third party extended warranty three years ahead of time that doesn't even cover the car. It has now covered the car for 6 weeks since the factory warranty expired. I inquired about cancelling it and they informed I would receive a refund of only $500. Learn from my mistake. Don't do business here. Very steriotypical car dealership. They will promise you everything to make the sale, but they will do everything to avoid having to follow through with thier promises once the sale is made. Among the many promises that were made was "2 year free scheduled maintanence". I confirmed that this meant ALL neccesary maintanence for 2 years. My first visit I was told this was only for oil changes for two years. I argued and they threw in a tire rotation. My second visit I was told it was only for oil changes so I paid for the rotation. My third visit (still inside two years)I was told it was only for 2 oil changes and 3 tire rotations but since the vehicle had more than 25k miles those were not good anymore so they would not do anything even though it was still less than two years. This is just one of a couple things that were promised that I had to fight to get done after the sale. Horrible place to do business. More
This was my 1st trip to Atlanta Toyota thanks to James Wiggins contacting me via internet sales. Corresponding back and forth getting the specs on what I wanted in a car. When an appt was set to see a car, James was very helpful. Knowledgeable about the car and answering all of my questions. As nerve wrecking as buying a car is, James made me feel very comfortable. I told him what I could do payment wise and he met with financial and made it happen. I was even able to get the car that I really wanted. Once I met with Sam in finance, numbers were not matching up. Bottom line, numbers didnt get figured correctly and my payment was NOT going to be what I was originally told. As in a matter of 40.00 Sam was very helpful during this and very patient. He kept me calm and did everything he could to help get my payment to where it was. He was not able to, but made other incentives to me. Although I did not get my car for the original price I was told, I did get it at a payment that I could handle. I purchased a new car from Atlanta Toyota via the Internet Dept. Chris MIller was the Internet Sales Rep. We did most of our communication via email, but we also discussed some details on the phone. My emails were answered quickly and the process was as pain-free as possible. I used to HATE going into the dealer and negotiating for a price, and playing the "waiting" game, going back and forth between salesman and manager. Chris found the exact car I wanted with all of the options I wanted, we then agreed on a price all from the comfort of my home/computer. I made an appointment to come in to pick up the car, I arrived 15 min. early and Chris got me some coffee while they finished detailing the car and filling the tank with gas. Chris went over the features in detail, we then took the car for a short drive to answer any questions, and then meet the finance manager to sign the paperwork. I actually walked away enjoying the experience, which is hard to believe. I really don't care if a salesman "tries" to become my friend, (we are doing business, not becoming long lost buddies) but I did find Chris to be very pleasant and I enjoyed my conversation with him while waiting for the Finance Manager. The Finance Manager reviewed the extended warranties/ lojack etc, did his sales pitch, but at no time was it high pressure. I have purchased many company cars and personal cars in the last 41 yrs and I don't believe I have done business with a better dealer or sales rep., I am sure they have lots of good sales reps, but I was very pleased with Chris, so let me plug him in this review. John Duran is an extremely wonderful person! He made the process of buying my first car easy. He is very honest and trustworthy. Furthermore, I had a small aesthetic accident with the bumper shortly after picking up my car and John Duran and Bernie Maldonado were just a phone call away and in no time, my car was back to normal! I honestly have no complaints, only compliments! More
