We were told we were definitely approved with a financial institution--was given the name-the interest rate-the length of the loan and the payment amount. We do not live in Western Maryland anymore--but grew institution--was given the name-the interest rate-the length of the loan and the payment amount. We do not live in Western Maryland anymore--but grew up there and our child still lives there--and my husband owns a vast amount of land in Fort Ashby (so isn't this local?). We were told that we had to add our daughter's name to the title only--since the dealership is in Maryland and we live out-of-state. They thought they might be able to obtain a lower interest rate and try to keep the loan local--well--then that didn't work. We were perfectly fine with the approval the dealership originally obtained with the lending institution--now they won't let us get the vehicle. The vehicle was a nice vehicle and fairly priced-that is one reason why we chose this dealership, along with their reputation. They said we can't get the vehicle-because we don't live locally and our daughter could not be added. They said to get a vechicle where we live and then bring it to Western Maryland for our daughter to borrow. We just thought it would be better if we purchased it where our daughter lives--so she could get it serviced at that dealership. How can they go back on their word--we called to get the phone number or the website of the lending institution and was told it was only available to car dealers---I worked at a local car dealership for many years when I lived in Western Maryland and we financed people that didn't live in the surrounding area--Example----one couple was traveling through Cumberland and their car broke down-they had it towed to our dealership-and found it was more to fix than their car was worth-so they traded it in--and they purchased a new vehicle--and was financed through our lending network!!! They didn't even have any relatives or ties to Western Maryland!! Therefore---I just don't understand---Except--that this dealership lost a sale--lost service appointments--lost repeat customers--lost even more sales (as we have a lot of family and friends--that we could have referred to their dealership). I always heard great things about this dealership--but now my opinion is not-so-great and I know my opinion doesn't really count--but how can they go back on their word--that is not how you sell cars!!!!!!!!!!!!!
