I was happy with Sullivan for many years, but I have been disappointed with the level of service on the last couple of visits under new ownership. Most recently my wife brought my Sierra 1500 for an oil c disappointed with the level of service on the last couple of visits under new ownership. Most recently my wife brought my Sierra 1500 for an oil change and tire rotation. She was also told by her service representative that diesel exhaust fluid had never been added to the vehicle and was in need of doing so. This was completely inaccurate. I had added DEF four if not five times in the past, with the last fill-up being only two weeks before. The DEF tank at the time of her visit should have been at least 1/2 full and possibly more. The truck's system will give multiple warnings when DEF starts to get low (at around 500 miles and 250 miles if I remember correctly), and my vehicle was producing no such warnings. Unfortunately my wife trusted their expertise and accepted the recommendation. When I saw on the receipt that I had been charged for two full containers of DEF (at almost twice the rate for which you can buy DEF at a store), I knew that something was not right. I called the service department and they gave me the same line that they had given to my wife. After I pushed the representative for clarification on why that volume was needed given the recent fill-up, he offered to talk to the technician and call me back. It turns out that they didn't use two full containers of DEF. The technician explained that they had only used half of a second container (this still doesn't make sense to me given the amount that had recently been added), and that there was half of a container left over. That remaining DEF was neither given nor offered to my wife. The representative could sense on the phone that I was not happy with the situation, and I was told that I could drive back to the dealership to pick up the rest of the DEF. I explained that it didn't make a lot of sense to drive 30-40 minutes one way to pick up the fluid. In my mind, this is an example of a dealership pushing an unnecessary service to an unknowing customer and constitutes a breach of trust. I am very disappointed and will be looking for a new place to service my vehicles. More
