My automotive family A visit to Antwerpen Volkswagen in Glen Burnie, Maryland is always a bit of a family reunion for me. Over the thirty years I have been doing business at this location, I have come to regard the employees as members of my "automotive family." I have always been greeted as family and treated with kindness and respect. The Sales Consultants, Service Writers and technicians have, over time become friends who treat me as one of the family. On my most recent visit, Chris Green (the General Manager),Chris Porter (business mgr.) and Rhia Buttrum (Sales Consultant) helped me select and purchase the specific Passat that is most appropriate to the kind of commute I do each day. Set back. More trouble then I bargained for. My experience with this dealership was horrendous. I brought my newly purchased certified pre owned Volkswagen into this dealership for an oil change My experience with this dealership was horrendous. I brought my newly purchased certified pre owned Volkswagen into this dealership for an oil change on Monday. I also was having issues with my rear view mirror attaching, and was told that would be fixed and covered by my CPO. I am a young graduate student who recently moved to Maryland from New York and thus have no additional supports down here. I am a first time vehicle owner, and this is my first time bringing my vehicle anywhere for service. I went to the dealership because my understanding was that the quality of service was at an above average standard here. I was wrong. After keeping my car over night to wait for a part, I was called and told that the mechanic working on my vehicle broke my windshield and that they would need to keep my car for an additional night/day. When I called the dealership back to discuss this matter, as I am a full time graduate student and commute over and hour on 95 south everyday for class. I was told that in similar situations, a loaner car would be provided, but right now "none are available". This is unacceptable. Absolutely unacceptable. I made arrangements to get to and from my internship at the Montgomery county health and human services offices for the first day they needed to keep my car. now I am down and out yet another day, and have no way to attend my classes tomorrow (which I pay of pocket for). I never thought I would be this displeased with Volkswagen as their standard of customer service always seemed to be high. I have only owned my vehicle for 3 months and it is sad to say I am already regretting the decision. More

For medical students, we walked out of there happy with an affordable lease payment. Samuel Serio (our salesman) took to the time to listen to our concerns, helped us reach an affordable payment plan, and even taught us how to drive a stick shift (since that's what we had decided to lease). After having spent a few weeks looking at cars, we are glad we made our way to Antwerpen! More

Can put no price tag on that! For them they were only doing their job but it meant much more to me. More

Then when ready to buy the vehicle; they add a $1400 repair order fee and called it a Maryland State Inspection Fee! He said the fee was from repairs done on the vehicle back in January! It is now August and instead of changing the online price; they spring it on you once you decide you want the car!!! Never heard of this from all the dealerships I've talked to over the years!!! If you want to get ripped off; got to Antwerpen VW; if not, find a reputable dealer!!!! More

How often do people search and purchase vehicles from dealerships who promote false promises driven by their personal agendas? Thankfully at Antwerpen Volkswagen, I was able to experience superlative customer service and avoided the latter! Arguably, words do little to describe my overall satisfaction and the level of professionalism exhibited by Rhia and the Antwerpen Team. Thank you for your determination, advise and guarantee of purchase, I love my new 2014 VW CC Sport! More
Attentive, Caring & Technologically Advanced I reached out to six dealerships with a broadcast message of specifications and my acceptable coast. Antwerpen was the only serious response. Their I reached out to six dealerships with a broadcast message of specifications and my acceptable coast. Antwerpen was the only serious response. Their sales manager listened, offered what he could and made the deal work. The sales rep and finance manager were "icing on the cake"...both added to the dealerships professionalism and customer care. Bottom Line: I drove off the lot a happy VW owner and will go back for future VW's. More
1 star because 0 was not an option These guys have really tanked since I bought my car there in 2009. I believe in spending my money locally but only if the customer service is good. I' These guys have really tanked since I bought my car there in 2009. I believe in spending my money locally but only if the customer service is good. I've been in and out of there for my cars needs over the years and learned early on that you have to be armed with info about what you are going in there for. If not they take every opportunity to charge you more than whats fair. My latest interaction has prompted this review. I had an exhaust sensor go bad in my car and no time to do it myself so I got a quote from Fitzgerald in Annapolis and these guys. Going into this I knew what the OEM sensor cost from the dealer and online. I get a price of $180 from Fitzgerald and $210 to install it. I call the service dept at Antwerpen and talk to Frank. He tells me the part will be $224 and 2 hours labor to put it in which equals $260. I ask him why the discrepancy in price for the part and he tells me that he's not sure why they can sell it to me for that price because it costs $184 from VW. He then comes back and says if I order the part from him and wait a day or so for to be shipped the price would be $147. Shouldn't it have been $147 to begin with especially for someone who bought there car there??? I tell Frank the difference is roughly $40 and its worth it to me not to wait. I bought the sensor from Fitzgeralds and thats when I find out the install is only $210 but they don't have availability until Monday to put it in. Surly Frank at Antwerpen will match the labor cost, right??? Nope, when I as Frank again why the discrepancy he says they are a competitor and he does not know what they charge for labor. Really Frank, you don't know what the competitor charges? $260 plus shop material charges. Shop materials is another way they can dig money out of your pocket to buy soap and paper towels for the mechanics. All shops have this charge but some are reasonable and some are not. The shop foreman tried to describe this to me as an "industry standard." Its amazing what they will tell you. So, to wrap this up keep driving right by this place! If you do go in for something, you better know in advance what a fair price is what you want done. They will take advantage of if you don't know. I believe is 2nd chances. People have a bad day, weren't hugged enough as a kid, or just make a mistake. I have given these guys more than a 2nd chance and they continually to prove how eager they are to be shady! Be sure to read the google reviews as well. More
