This dealership is not honest. They raised the the base price of the vehicle over $1000 on the contract, charge twice for freight by calling it destination fee while negotiating and then added it again on price of the vehicle over $1000 on the contract, charge twice for freight by calling it destination fee while negotiating and then added it again on the sales contract under freight. They did not honor a coupon they had one line. Lied about the amount of mileage on the car. Showed one car to inspect that was the same color and not the car I purchased that was damaged. I have never meet an entire business that lied and conducted so much misguidance. Please check out another dealership and check rating on line. More
I previously bought a car from this dealership. Noone at the dealership this time around indicated that they knew this. I made an appointment to see two cars - at a particular time and date, with 18 hours the dealership this time around indicated that they knew this. I made an appointment to see two cars - at a particular time and date, with 18 hours notice. It had snowed about four days before, but the one car was covered in snow when I arrived. After waiting 20 minutes for the one car to be made available, I said to the salesperson (i.e., Amad) - way don't you have someone else get the snow of the car and we'll test drive the other car. He started telling that he was almost done (not in my opinion) to which I told him that I had waited about half an hour and let's just look at the other car. He told me to "calm down." I told him "calm down, did you just tell me to calm down?" He said "Yes, you should calm down - I'm almost done." I said "I'm out of here" and turned to leave. Shortly thereafter, I heard him say "F*** you." After confirming that he in fact said that, I told the sales manager what he said and then left. More
My experience with Antwerpen didn't start out great (I asked Samantha over the phone about the mileage a car had. She told me it was "new." Turned out, it had over 5,000 miles on it) that's why I gave t asked Samantha over the phone about the mileage a car had. She told me it was "new." Turned out, it had over 5,000 miles on it) that's why I gave the overall experience a 4 rather than a 5. Nevertheless, Ola was diligent and VERY patient in showing me several cars I was interested in, giving me prices, and negotiating. In fact, we negotiated prices for three different cars--over two separate visits--before I finally settled on a vehicle. When I told him that another dealer had offered a lower price, he went to work getting the manager to lower the price. I had a particular model, color, and options package in mind. The dealership located what I wanted and drove it 140 miles to get it to me--at no charge to me. Once the car was at the dealership, they washed it and added the few remaining touches (pin striping, door guards, etc.) before I left the lot. As I was leaving, I remembered that I wanted to keep my wheel locks. The service department was already closed and Ola was due to be off the next day. He said that he would call Danny (another sales rep) in the morning and ask him to have the shop remove the wheel locks for me. I thought he would probably forget to do it since it was his day off. BUT, when I called, I was told that my wheel locks were right on Danny's desk waiting for me. There was no pressure during the sales negotiation or financing. Oh, I got a great deal too! More
We came to this dealership to take advantage of a deal by TOYOTA: trade-in our Corolla 2007 (leased) and get a new Corolla (financed). We were satisfied with the professional attitude of the sales rep we're TOYOTA: trade-in our Corolla 2007 (leased) and get a new Corolla (financed). Tim was great to work with!!! He was friendly, knowledgeable, not aggressive as some salesmen can be, and was able to provide us with a great deal on a new mini-van. We were not expecting to buy knowledgeable, not aggressive as some salesmen can be, and was able to provide us with a great deal on a new mini-van. We were not expecting to buy a new van that day, we were just shopping, but Tim was able to come through with a price that we did not want to walk away from. We went home to think about it, called Tim back to tell him we were ready to buy, and he made sure everything was ready for us so that it wouldn't take too long process the paperwork. The only reason I rated quality of work at a lower rating than everything else was because the van could have been buffed up better than it was for delivery. Other than that everything was 5 star service! More
We did our due diligence by checking out a few dealers in the area when we decided to purchase a 2011 Toyota Highlander. We decided to purchase from Antwerpen Toyota in Clarksville, MD (Tel. 410-531-5700) af the area when we decided to purchase a 2011 Toyota Highlander. We decided to purchase from Antwerpen Toyota in Clarksville, MD (Tel. 410-531-5700) after hearing what they had to offer. We discussed the price with Duane Keyser, the salesperson, and we specifically told him that we needed a DVD entertainment unit with built-in video games. Subsequently, we went to the business office to discuss financing options and finalize everything. After Bill tried to pull a fast one on us telling us that the best rate we could qualify for was 5.99%, we informed him that we had a rate of 4.79% from another dealer and we would go back there if we had to. A few seconds later, Bill discovered (some miracle) that we actually qualify for a rate of 4.79% with SunTrust Bank. At the end, we decided to take Toyota's special rate and give up the $500 rebate. When presented with paperwork, We asked Bill to make sure that the DVD system we are getting is the one with the built-in games, Bill paged a manager who came in, looked at the paperwork and confirmed that we are getting the correct one. Since the DVD entertainment system was not in the vehicle already, it had to be installed. On installation day, 4 days later, we took the vehicle back to Antwerpen for installation, only to find out that Duane had ordered the DVD system that did not have the built-in games. We left the vehicle there in hopes that they would look at the paperwork and correct the situation before installing the wrong DVD system. Please note that we had planned our vacation months in advance and we were supposed to drive from Maryland to Florida on that day. When we received the vehicle with the wrong DVD system in it, they offered us a $20 hand-help game that plugs into any TV with some games on it. Now, we have a DVD system that we did not order. Our paperwork says clearly that they owe us a DVD system with built-in games and they are trying to tell us that WE tricked them to get something for free. It sounds like we will be dealing with Antwerpen Toyota for months to come in order to get the situation rectified including Dealer complaints, complaints to Toyota Motor Company, Better Busiess Bureau and small claim court if we have to. The way we were treated by Duane after we purchased the vehicle was insulting and lacked any sense of customer service. It sounds like as soon as you buy the vehicle and you sign on the dotted line, everything changes. More
Do not trust this dealer. They lied about the quote on the phone and even when we were already in their store. The number that they gave over the phone was not even close to the price that they were tryi the phone and even when we were already in their store. The number that they gave over the phone was not even close to the price that they were trying to sell me their vehicle for. The story began when customer service representative Keshia Ruffin called me after I put a quote on the internet and offered to beat the price of any other dealer. Few minutes later she gave me the price for a new 2011 Toyota Highlander that sounded too good to be true. I called her back just to confirm that she did not make any mistake, she confirmed everything. I still wasn't that sure I can trust them so I asked to confirm this conversation with an e-mail. Keisha never replied to my request knowing that she was lying probably she didn't want any proof of her words. The next morning my friend called Antwerpen asking for a quote for the same year make model and configuration as I did the day before. She was given exactly the same number that was given to me the day before. This time sales rep was Samantha Androsky. Upon our request this girl sent us the e-mail confirmation stating the price for the vehicle, 2011 year, model, stock number, etc. When we checked the stock number at the Antwerpen Toyota web site - it appeared that it matched to a 2010 Toyota Highlander. We called back and Samantha acknowledged that she made a mistake. When we said we will not come to the dealership, another customer service representative LaToya Mckay called us back and expressed her guarantee that we will get the price that was promised for 2011 car. They were trying to lure us in at any cost. We came right away – the price was great. We told to the Sales Consultant Ola Lawoyin the price for the car that we were given and asked that if he is not going to make it just tell us upfront and save everybody’s time. He hesitantly went to check on something, then another something, then came back letting us know that the price is right and he will go pick a car for us. He even asked me what color I want. Why? 15 minutes later he brought a car that was not the color I asked for (I didn’t mind it … but why ask if you know we don’t get to choose?) He informed us that for the price we want that was the only car that he could do. He took us for the test drive and only after I filled in application to finance, he came back to us with the piece of paper showing how all of a sudden the price that was given to us over the phone and e-mail grew 3,000$ more. After a heated discussion about honor and lying sales manager Michael Friend was brought in. He told us that he is very sorry that young and inexperienced customer service girl made a mistake in e-mail (he forgot to mention that we were told what the price will be when we just walked into the store). He said he absolutely can’t give us the originally quoted price. Finally realizing that talking to us is making more harm than good they said “no deal”. We were expecting at least some explanation from the general manager James Kim. Instead we were told that what we want can’t be done and we should just shut up and leave. Stay away as far as possible, none of them will ever tell you the truth. Especially the following: Sales Manager Michael Friend, General Sales Manager James Kim, Sales Consultant Ola Lawoyin, Customer Service representatives LaToya Mckay, Keshia Ruffin and Samantha Androsky. I have not had service at the Dealership yet. I only I have not had service at the Dealership yet. I only purchased the Sienna a month ago. The salesman was great. The sales process worked out O.K. I have not had service at the Dealership yet. I only purchased the Sienna a month ago. The salesman was great. The sales process worked out O.K. When I got what I asked for my trade-in , the Sales Manager ( I'm assuming thats what he was ) said it really hurt him to give me that much for my trade-in. I really didn't have to hear that. He could have kept that to him self! Other wise I kind of enjoyed the transaction. More
I went to Antwerpen Toyota with pretty awful credit and a phobia about the car buying process. I'm a single woman and as many times as I have purchased cars, it just doesn't seem to get any easier. Peter Har phobia about the car buying process. I'm a single woman and as many times as I have purchased cars, it just doesn't seem to get any easier. Peter Harrison was a delightful salesman, respectful and accommodating. The first finance manager I worked with was pretty unpleasant, but as soon as I mentioned that to Peter he and the store manager went out of their way to put me with someone who was much more pleasant to work with. I think I could have gotten a better price, but I did not haggle as that is part of my discomfort with the process, so anything I paid in excess of what others might have paid is my fault. All in all it was a good experience, I got the car I wanted from a team of people who were pleasant and accommodating. More
