I did my research on line, and got price quotes from local dealers they all came in about the same. I had picked out my car interior and exterior and the dealership gave me a price for the vehicle told local dealers they all came in about the same. I had picked out my car interior and exterior and the dealership gave me a price for the vehicle told me that my selection was not on the lot and would be there in two days. A week later the car had not arrived and I went back to the dealership. I was then told by the sales manager that the car would be there in an additional 7 days. And that taxes and Tags would be covered by my trade in. When the trade in came back from appraisal they were only giving me $500 for the car, Kelly blue book had "Fair" their lowest rating which my car is, at 200 above that and private sale at 2100, This is the car I drive 75 miles a day to work and back it runs well, no interior damage, and scrapes from parking garage. I am looking for a car because after 200K and 8 years I am wanting something new. When the 7 days passed I got a call saying the car was not there yet and they would keep me informed. They had originally given me a VIN number and told me the car was at a dealership 30 miles away. I was upset and told them I would be writing this review. The sales manager called me back told me they were canceling the sale as I was obviously dissatisfied with their service and he didn't want to get a low rating as it would effect his bonus and performance appraisal. I have not gotten written confirmation of the sale cancellation or refund of my deposit. More
By far one of the sleaziest dealerships in the Auto Park in Clarksville. First time I went to go test drive a Prius, Willie Cole didn't know the parking brake was on in the vehicle--left a poor taste in my in Clarksville. First time I went to go test drive a Prius, Willie Cole didn't know the parking brake was on in the vehicle--left a poor taste in my mouth. He obviously didn't want the sale if he wasn't even willing to take the time and look at a vehicle with me. The second time, I made an appointment to see Marvin Williams, who passed me off to Ola Lawoyin. Fine. I went to go look at another Prius with a trade-in. They lowballed me (below Galves and Manheim) for a vehicle that is in IMMACULATE condition with low-mileage. The Prius they wanted to sell me was driven by their GM as a demo. Yet they were still selling it with 1300 miles on the vehicle as "new" at a very high premium. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID. AT ALL COSTS. It doesn't get any worse than Antwerpen Toyota. More
Overall it wasnt bad because now being 10months since i purchased my 09 toyota tacoma double cab TRD i have made it into an amazing truck but i will never go back to this Dealer. I live in Fredericksburg, purchased my 09 toyota tacoma double cab TRD i have made it into an amazing truck but i will never go back to this Dealer. I live in Fredericksburg, VA. and Antwerpen was the only dealer that had the color i wanted so i made a trip to go buy it. The entire staff cater to you like all other dealers do but as soon as i signed the papers, the poker faces came off and any request since that night it has been a headache to get anything accomplished. Make sure you make them give you a CARFAX before you come close to signing to buy because little did i know after them never offering to give me my carfax i learned it had been just short of totaled and sat 3months in a collision center before it was back to complete and obviously then Antwerpen bought it dirt cheap and sold it at a normal price. When i came back two days later to resign everything because of a lower APR i requested a Carfax and no lie after asking 3 times and them giving me excuses of them not being able to get one since the sale has already been done they finally gave me one and then everything finally made sense of them not wanting to give it to me or offer me one on the day of sale. If Antwerpen has that one car you have been looking for then atleast just do me a favor and be on your game when you do business with them because they WILL trick you just to make a buck. Hopefully this is helpful to viewers for the future. Brandon Fredericksburg, VA. 2009 Toyota Tacoma DC TRD More
BEWARE of this dealership. I went in to purchase a new Prius during the Toyotathon sales. The sales person (JC) was working in conjuction with the "internet sales manager" and we had agreed on a price for Prius during the Toyotathon sales. The sales person (JC) was working in conjuction with the "internet sales manager" and we had agreed on a price for the vehicle. I started filling out the credit application and then the "internet sales manger " said he had to step away and that James Kim (sales manager) would take over. I completed the credit application and was then aked for my current vehicle insurance card. Once I gave the salesman my card the Sales Manager, James Kim, came up to me and said he can't do that price. After agreeing on a price and running my credit I get this crap from them. I called the police to get my credit application back because they refused to return it to me but too bad the police said it's a civil issue and no crime as been commited. This is the foolish game Antwerpen Toyota plays. Also be aware of how they write things out on their worksheet; they often say one thing but put another in writing. They are very sly and deceptive. BUYER BEWARE. More
BAD BAD BAD, I went to buy 2 new cars here, at signing they told me they made a mistake and this would be costing me $1000 extra. This was even after having the agreement in writing! Long story short I they told me they made a mistake and this would be costing me $1000 extra. This was even after having the agreement in writing! Long story short I walked out after dealing with a very rude sales manager. After reading other reviews I should have never gone there in the first place. They are all amount trying to SCAM people and being dishonest. There are many other toyota dealers in this area which are far better. I purchased the same two cars the next day in Fredrick MD and had a far better experiance. AVOID THIS DEALER!!!!! More
I was not going to buy a new car. I was just looking to buy a used car, but my Salesman, Patrick Nelson, got me such a great deal on a brand new car, I couldn't pass it up!! He was very positive and upbeat buy a used car, but my Salesman, Patrick Nelson, got me such a great deal on a brand new car, I couldn't pass it up!! I dealt with this guy Patrick Nelson - he was unprofessional, condescending and refused to work with me. According to him, negotiation is not part of car buying and customer service means nothing unprofessional, condescending and refused to work with me. According to him, negotiation is not part of car buying and customer service means nothing to him. His emails to me reek of arrogance and lack of customer service. I am almost tempted to report him to Toyota. Ah well - I will NOT buy a car from him even if he were to be last car dealer on this planet. The other sales guys and the manager are better - but only marginally. They don't follow-up on sales quotes, don't try to work with you to make the deal work. They think they are selling some precious stones or rare paintings. I do not recommend this dealership to anyone More
This dealership is dishonest beyond measure. I thought in this day and age, these old school greasy car-salesman tactics were from a bygone era. It is alive and kicking at Antwerpen. Let me outline their sal this day and age, these old school greasy car-salesman tactics were from a bygone era. It is alive and kicking at Antwerpen. Let me outline their sales tactics. When you walk in to the dealer and look at car (in our case, a 2011 Prius), you will see two stickers on the vehicle. One is a hand-written sticker, and the other is the offical Toyota sticker. The handwritten sticker will say a grossly large MSRP. In this case it said ~34000. The Toyota sticker said 30729. Antwerpen's website has the same 30729 number, although they encourage you to request a "sale" price. This smaller MSRP matches Toyota USA's "Build Your Car" MSRP as well. This should be the first red flag - is Antwerpen insinuating that the car is actually worth ~34000? Even when Toyota USA itself says otherwise? Either way, we negotiated the price down to a flat "30000". Happy with this number, we begin the paperwork. At this point, our sales person tells us that among the typical fees (taxes, tags, etc.), there is a $760 destination fee. This is puzzling, because destination fees are ALWAYS included in a manufacturer's MSRP. In fact, using the same Toyota USA's "Build Your Car", you will see the exact same $760 line item for destination fees. Antwerpen, however, has seen fit to double charge this fee. In fact, if we had gone through with the sale, we actually would have paid MORE than the MSRP of the car. Now, at this point, I could maybe say, honest mistake, or worst case, these guys are dishonest. Looking up reviews on this site, however, revealed that THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. On Feb 5, 2011, on this very review site, the EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED. The review was submitted by Jacsonville11. Look it up. TOYOTA, THIS IS THE TYPE OF SALES EXPERIENCE THAT RUIN YOUR BRAND. ******UPDATES****** We were able to go in today to discuss the above situation with Antwerpen. Initially, things seemed like it was getting to be really really ugly. The general sales manager was very threatening and not friendly at all, even calling us names. I considered, and eventually did call my lawyer just to get his advice. We decided, however, to wait a bit to talk with the Finance team. The Antwerpen Finance team, thankfully, was a WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY. They were very professional and pleasant. We spoke with Mike Wang and he was upfront, clear, and made the proper adjustments, while preserving the integrity of their business and us as customers. We were able to discuss things in a straightforward manner and things got resolved quickly and appropriately. Kudos to Mike and the finance team to clear things up. I only wish they could be the sales guys. Having said that, we do have to say that our immediate sales person, Tyler, was also very friendly and apologetic through the whole morning - nice guy. I believe the problems that we experienced are systemic in their senior sales force. If you do go to this dealer, (1) make sure you know your stuff and be a hawk on everything you look at and (2) go through things with finance team in detail - they are much more informed, helpful, won't treat you poorly, and won't treat you with disrespect. I give Tyler, Mike, Joe a friendliness of 5, I give their General Sales Manager a friendliness of 0. Average it out to a 3. More
Ahmed worked diligently on my behalf, as my credit is less than perfect. He kept me abreast of the challenges and the progress of their effort to make this work for everyone. The finance team was ver less than perfect. He kept me abreast of the challenges and the progress of their effort to make this work for everyone. The finance team was very professional and were candid as I had been with them about my situation. Through it all, I had a very positive experience, and appreciated the effort by all involved. I now have a new 2011 RAV 4, and I'm enjoying it thoroughly. -Alan J. Columbia, MD More
My wife & I definitely DO NOT recommend this dealer. Lots of lying, scamming, bait & switch tactics. We went to trade-in our vehicle & wanted to get the best price. We didn't want to run our credit but Lots of lying, scamming, bait & switch tactics. We went to trade-in our vehicle & wanted to get the best price. We didn't want to run our credit but after a little bit of pressure from the initial salesman (Michael) decided to take a risk. We were in for a surprise. After an initial "soft" sell by the 2 salesman we contacted, they immediately began a savage & very pressure-filled "hard" sell session with us. We went into the back to see what kind of numbers they could get us & the price was ridiculous for the 2011 Venza we looked at. After a lot of pressure from them (Mr. Wang) & very little negotation from them, we decided to leave & check another dealership. The very next day we received a call from another salesman (Brandon) who wanted to see how our shopping was coming along. We informed him that another dealership had matched & beaten their price - we gave him the details. He informed us that the dealership could match it. He even called us back twice to confirm all the numbers. The dealer is approximately 45min away from my home so I inquired AGAIN to verify the numbers. He completely assured us of the price we wanted. When we get to the dealer, not only did they NOT know we were coming, but John (financing guy) gave us another price slightly higher ($13 more). We explained the pricing difference & instead of taking the loss, he said he couldn't get us that deal. We complained & even told him this is "bait & switch". They didn't budge & didn't even bother to bring Brandon in for confirmation. They lost a sale because they didn't want to lose $13/month. Stay away from this place at all costs. More
