Unfortunately as a toyota dealer we must fix your vehicle in accordance with toyota motor corporation and unfortunately toyota is pretty straight forward on not repairing any harness that has shielded wiring due to fire hazards and longevity of repairs. Antwerpen Toyota is not perfect, but we are trying to get better each and every day. As to the A, B, and C sevices, again I appologize that it was not explained to you that we have two levels of service, Factory and Dealer. Factory services are identical to the owners manual and include all items in those services. The Factory services start at $74.95, which is well within the suggested price a per Toyota. I would also like to address your A/C concern, I would be very frustrated myself if I had no A/C after a year of spending money to fix it. I assure you beware-dissattified that I WILL get your A/C fixed and I WILL make you a satisfied customer. I again assure you of that. All I am asking for is another chance to make this right. Mr. Steely, Thank you for your response. I wish I had seen it earlier. Much has transpired since the Hybrid Battery and Air conditioning failures. First, regarding the hybrid battery (3500.90)--as it turned out, the hybrid fan (758.84) needed to be replaced soon after the hybrid battery which calls into question the need for replacement of the hybrid battery and the 12 volt battery (338.07) vs. the hybrid fan, as the car was still running when I was told it overheated and needed replacement. Also there were problems with the air conditioning (during the hot weather) which may have contributed to the hybrid battery overheating. Regarding the air conditioning. When the air conditioning first failed I took it to another dealer. They informed me that they would need to remove the dashboard but I would need to remove the dog fur. (The customer service rep told me she would buy another car). I subsequently returned to Antwerpen, where I purchased the car and considered to be pet friendly, for the repair (935.00)--the prices were in the same ball park. I assumed the repair was comparable to what would have been performed at the other dealer. (I have since learned that the dashboard is removed to replace the evaporator--which is what you recently diagnosed as the cause of the air conditioning failure. I also read that doing anything other than that--such as charging the system which I was told was done, can cause extensive damage. Also, the coolant control valve (549.22) A/C Kit (179.00). There was also a pump replaced by recall. While nearly nothing is perfect, which is why I have returned time and again with little complaint. However, an additional $500 charge for the parts, to repair the air conditioning in addition to what I have already paid well the over $1000 that I have already paid, not to mention the constant disruption, inconvenience and aggravation seems, to me, unconscionable. I would ask that Antwerpen look for the causes of failure and fix those as opposed to using the band-aid approach and perhaps stay abreast of maintenance issues. Regarding the fan, I was able to find this on the internet as being a problem for Prius owners with pets with a recommended regular cleaning of the vent. I read is a relatively inexpensive half hour job. My Huskies are going to be hot this summer without air conditioning.
