Purchased a new 2011 Sonata in September 2010. Purchased a paint protection plan.Was told by dealership that paint would not be covered in 2011 unless car rusted from the inside out. Found out 3 weeks later from a friend who purchased a car from Antwerpen that I did not have the protection that was sold to me.Dealership also divulged some personal information and details about my purchase to my friends including the details of the coverage I actually had. I e-mailed the dealership as well as sent them a certified letter requesting a refund of the $800.00 purchase price. I copied the correspondance to Michael Antwerpen, General Manager and Jeff Glascoe, Sales Manager. They never gave me the courtesy of replying to me. I think they thought I would give up and go away. Had to get Md. Attorney General for refund. Took 5 months.Dealer unresponsive,rude, and uncaring. In my mind this was the classic example of bait and switch. More
I was pleased at how quickly Rob responded to my emails and his willingness to work with me to get the exact car I wanted. I was able to complete most all of the transaction by email thereby minimizi and his willingness to work with me to get the exact car I wanted. Rob May was very responsive to my inquiry to buy a new car and answered every question I had. He did not try to push anything on me and unlike the people at Massey Hyundai did not try the bait and switch car and answered every question I had. I just purchased a 2011 Santa Fe this morning, so my review is somewhat limited. I waited 3 days hoping to receive another quote but didn't receive any. I did receive a lot of emails from the other dealers wanting me to call and come in and talk but that wasn't my request. I requested a quote, and thats what Rob provided, in a timely fashion. Since I only met Rob this morning and took delivery this morning, I can only provide a rating on what I have experienced over the past 5 days and so far it has been pleasureable. More
I had a wonderful experience at Antwerpen Hyundai. I called Rob May (Internet Sales) a week before my purchase asking about the new 2011 Elantras. He told me that he had not received any at the dealership and was not expecting any for 3-4 weeks. Rob called me a week later saying the first 2011 Elantra had arrived. I was fortunate enought to buy the very first 2011 Elantra delivered to Antwerpen Hyundai. Rob May is very professional and easy going. I never felt any pressure to purchase the car. Rob was very patient and instructive as he showed me how to use all of the car's features. The next day I returned for a very minor service call (the radio did not remember the pre-set stations) - Rob was on top of it and had me in the Service Center very quickly. Ricci Sherwood (Finance Manager) handled my financing quickly and professionally. I have been buying vehicles for about 35 years and I would say this is the very best experience I have had at a new car dealership. More

Other than that, you can quote me on the following: Rob May, the internet sales manager is an excellent, experienced, and friendly person with whom I would definitely enjoy making future business again. He was informed, easy going and honest. After reading some reviews before heading over to Antwerpen Catonsville, I was a little apprehensive, but meeting Rob was what changed my mind about the dealership as a whole. If you are going to look for a Hyundai, email Rob first, and then go to him for an excellent shopping experience. More
I didn't feel pressured into buying any particular car. I owned a Santa Fe and was happy with that particular car. I had very few mechanical problems and new my next car would be a Hyuandi. The finance part of my car buying experience went very smoothly, They didn't keep me waiting and told me immediately that I was approved for the car financing. This can be the part of the car buying experience that can cause any customer anxiety. Mr. Darlington answered all of my questions about my financing package. I am a very busy person. I did my research online and went to Antwerpen. I ask for the Sales Mgr and Jeff came over and took care of me. I got the Sonata I wanted at a better price then I expected. Mike went to Antwerpen. I ask for the Sales Mgr and Jeff came over and took care of me. I got the Sonata I wanted at a better price then I expected. Mike Antwerpen was at the front desk and was very helpful. He made certain I got the lowest finance rate and explained the extended warranty. I enjoyed buying my Sonata at Antwerpen Hyundai. They are easy to deal with and good people. More
Salesman Tony Williams was very kind, knowledgeable, and professional. Sales manager and Gen. mgr. at this dealership are jerks. Had a good experience here a few years ago, so trusted a return visit to be good also. WRONG. This was THE most uncomfortable HIGH PRESSURE sale I have ever experienced. Lured in by Internet pricing...which is basically geared to get you on the hook. Then everything changes. They practically held my trade in, as well as my wife and I, hostage for almost 6 hours and would not seem to take NO for an answer! The salesman Luis was terribly high pressure. It was to the point of either calling a cab and/or the police...thats how bad we felt about this dealer and just wanting to leave! After six hours of smoke and mirrors, the General Manager played enough games with interest rates and down payments so that I could leave with the car...as if I was paying to escape! Games it was. I would NEVER recommend this dealer with this current crop of managers and sales people to anyone. More
