Gem in our own backyard! We've always heard such positive things about Subaru of Milford that we decided to try them first when shopping for a new car. So glad we believed the We've always heard such positive things about Subaru of Milford that we decided to try them first when shopping for a new car. So glad we believed the hype! They were friendly, knowledgeable, and convenient. Our salesperson, Kevin Sutter, patiently answered all our questions--and we had lots as first-time Subaru buyers. Then, they immediately found exactly what we were looking for and had it on the lot within a day. Everyone dreads negotiating new car prices. No need this time. They offered us a very fair price first try. We brought our own financing and were not badgered into using theirs. No aggressive upselling on items we didn't want, like extended warranty or accessories. Our car was waiting, washed and full of gas, when we arrived and Kevin explained each form we signed. The service manager even spent time going over the suggested service schedule and giving us some pointers on how to care for AWD. We were pleasantly surprised to find out they added a free three-year Resist-All Protection Package, and state inspections are free for the life of the car. It wasn't until we got home that we looked at each other and said, "Wow, that was painless. It's never that easy!" Fair price. No hassle. Great follow up to make sure we're happy and answer any questions. All ten minutes from home. Now we'll be telling everyone how much we love this dealership. It's fun to have a positive story to share. Oh yeah, we also love our new Subaru. More
Milford Subaru Rocks! I started my search for a new car on-line. Had two different makes in mind. Subaru was one because so many people recommended (friends,family&co-worke I started my search for a new car on-line. Had two different makes in mind. Subaru was one because so many people recommended (friends,family&co-workers) the other was a Manchester dealer (not Subaru) but my husband and I had owned this make of car in the past. I had 3 basic requirements, price, model and color and I would not compromise. Subaru emailed to say they could meet my requirements no problem. Subaru's email was personal from Kevin Sutter directly. The Manchester dealer just kept emailing me Other models in other colors at higher prices. Their emails were in-personal and not very engaging. Since I had decided on one of these two cars, it came down to the best customer service. Milford Subaru and Kevin were serious, professional and friendly. They got my business.. So, I will be "Zoom Zooming" in my new Subaru Legacy for many years. Pun intended. More

Two Car Buying Experiences at Subaru of Milford Used Honda Pilot In July 2013 my wife and I were in the market for a used Honda Pilot that was about 2 years old with 30k miles or so. We searched Used Honda Pilot In July 2013 my wife and I were in the market for a used Honda Pilot that was about 2 years old with 30k miles or so. We searched local honda dealerships whose lots were loaded with them. We had no luck getting to a reasonable price. We saw online that Subaru of Milford had one on their lot at a more reasonable price. I put in an online inquiry and told them what I we were looking for and the price we wanted to pay. they respected my request to contact me by email (vs. phone) and told me that they might not be able to meet my exact price but could come close and asked if we would be willing to come look at the vehicle to ensure that it was something that we truly wanted. We agreed and that evening we went to look at the car. I fully expected the usual gamesmanship. It didn't happen. They had the car ready for us to test drive. We did and decided it was exactly what we wanted. They brought us in and actually had us meet directly with James, the Sales Manager - no one running back and forth to the back room to see if the "mysterious boss" can improve the deal. We were actually sitting IN the back room. The whole dealership just seemed to have a very laid back atmosphere. James reiterated that he could not meet our price but could come close. When we asked how close, we were in disbelief when he offered us the car for a few hundred more than we had asked. It was clear that James was not looking to squeeze every penny he could out of us and was perfectly happy to offer us a good deal while making a reasonable profit. Also, no one ever made an attempt to upsell us to a different vehicle. There were a few minor conditioning issues with the car and they agreed to take care of all of our concerns. The deal was handed over the Mark Fairbanks in Sales and he was also very helpful with no pressure at any point in the process. We purchased the car for thousands less than we could negotiate it from a honda dealership but what impressed us most was the approach of the employees. Everyone we dealt with listened to our concerns and addressed them with no games or "typical" tactics that you might experience at other dealerships. 2015 Subaru Forester Two Sundays ago, I stopped by the lot again with my 12 y.o. daughter. We were in the area and decided to stop in just to look at the used Foresters. I thought I was going to buy used again but was not close to a buying decision and hadn’t even decided on a brand. I was also looking at Hondas, Fords and Mazdas. We showed up right at closing time. But, Mark Fairbanks spent 20 minutes with us answering all our questions. He took the time to show us two different cars that were on the lot. He didn’t try to sell us either one of them, he just answered our questions and did his best to educate us. He knew I wasn’t buying a car that day but he still spent the time with us even though it meant being late getting home to his family. A week went buy and I had decided on a new Forester. I had been offered some very competitive prices by other dealerships who then tried to earn a killing on my trade. Frustrated, I called Mark and said I am willing to buy a Forester today if you can meet my parameters. I outlined my offer on the new car and what I needed for my trade-in order to buy a car that day. He said “let me call you back in a few minutes”. He did and informed me that they could meet the price on the new car. He said that the price I was asking for my trade-in was above what they could get from their wholesaler, but if my trade were clean, they would meet that price too. I arrived and met Erik, the General Manager. He spent a few minutes looking at my car and then told Mark to “write it up”. No haggling. No hassle. In less than 30 minutes in the dealership I was signing for the new car. I was asking for a lot in this deal and they were willing to work with me. Part of it may be because I was a repeat customer? I don’t know. But what I do know is that the two easiest, most up front, most hassle free car purchases I have ever made were from Subaru of Milford. Mark in Sales as well as the management team of James and Erik are top notch. My Forester has to be ordered and may take several weeks for the car to arrive, so I will update this review after I take delivery of the car. More

We decided to try to speed up things by getting preapproved online. After being preapproved within 5 minutes, Shy Christakos, from Milford Subaru, contacted us to let us know she was willing to earn our business and set up an appointment. We came down to the dealership with our 6 month year old hoping for the best. It was a rainy Saturday and the show room was filled with customers. Shy quickly found us, apologized for crowd, and got us a sales person (Joe) who ushered us a couple of cars to test drive. When we returned with an idea of model and color and sat down with Joe who gave us his best price. We were negotiating a trade as well and countered with our price. Shy came over and went through all the numbers and noticed that the baby was getting restless. She said she really didn't want us to leave without a car, but understood that the baby needed to come first. She told us that she would work through the numbers and contact us to see if she could meet our number on the trade. Later that day, Shy contacted us and got the deal done. My wife came down a couple days later to sign the paper work and pick up the new car. The total time spent at the dealership was all of 2 hours and the customer experience will bring us back to purchase another car here. Thank you Shy and Joe. More

I met Kevin who helped me figure out I could afford a step up from the basic model. I got the emerald green and I was so excited for the color. The other sales people were very welcoming, one even offered me a refreshment. Once the approvals were done, I met Jeff, the finance director. He was awesome and really helped with my percentage rate, he went above and beyond. Everyone was professional and fun. More
My time at Milford Subaru with James, Erik and Kevin I was apprehensive on going to a "small" dealer considering larger volume dealers are within just a few miles, but was I wrong! After speaking with th I was apprehensive on going to a "small" dealer considering larger volume dealers are within just a few miles, but was I wrong! After speaking with the "Big Guys" down the road and being totally turned off by their pompous attitude, I was actually told that I would be back to them since they are the Northeast's largest volume dealer. I asked for an e-price off the Milford website and it went from there. From the very first phone inquiry to driving off the lot with my new car, I couldn't be happier. Both James and Erik (or maybe it was the same one the entire time since they are twins haha) were extremely helpful and listened to what I was looking for. I was introduced to Kevin Sutter and he was my salesman for then on. I was able to configure a vehicle to my liking with one that was in transit which was exactly what i was looking for. I called or emailed them a handful of times asking questions and adding more options as time went since the car wasnt at port yet, all communication was instant, professional and friendly. Upon arrival I met with all 3 guys again and their professionalism didnt change. I was shown around the showroom and service center and everyone seemed happy to be there. I wasnt forced to buy anything that I didnt want to and drove away knowing that I will be a repeat customer and will do what I can to pass along the good word that this is a great place to buy a Subaru! Given today's hectic world when everyone is on the go I can safely say that I'm very happy to have found a small dealer that is there for you and your not just a number. More
Bought a Forester here 5 years ago and have always had it serviced here, and enjoyed the friendliness and 'smallness' of the place (meant in a good way - they make you feel comfortable). Went back now to bu serviced here, and enjoyed the friendliness and 'smallness' of the place (meant in a good way - they make you feel comfortable). Went back now to buy a new 2014 Forester. Laura 1st helped me - said they have no base models, but talked me into test driving a 'Premier' (next step up) edition. Comes with more bells & whistles than I wanted, and also had tinted glass, which I didn't think I'd like. She suggested I come drive it at night. Joe, who sold me a car 5 years ago, took over the sale and gave me a great price on a trade-in for my 2009 Subaru and also a great price on the 2014. Bought it contingent on a night test drive, which worked out well - the tinted glass doesn't cut down on visibility as much as I thought, so we bought it. Very happy with paperwork process - finance guy explained options for extended warranties, but didn't push, just handled the paperwork expeditiously, was out of there in an hour after car serviced and gased up.
