Make sure you stay on top of your own service records/receipts when visiting this dealership!!! Left the car today for a simple oil change and filter replacement. My wife received a call from the records/receipts when visiting this dealership!!! Left the car today for a simple oil change and filter replacement. My wife received a call from the service advisor (Jonathan Fried) saying that we also needed a new battery. My wife mentioned to this advisor that she remembers having All American Chevy in Middletown, NJ replace the battery last year. Who happens to be the only dealer we intrusted our car with, since we purchased it their. Of which the advisor reviewed our service records and couldn’t find any such record. My wife then said to hold off on the new battery, as she wanted to check our receipts and asked that they only work on our original request until further notice. Within the hour of hanging up, she received another call from the service advisor apologizing and confirming we did in fact get a new battery last year (August) and that they performed a new test and miraculously, now we no longer need a new battery. We then had a speak with the GM (Tom Cedar), since this exchange with a defensive advisor left us more frustrated. Tom, went on to explain that he has had his own personal issues with this test machine and said that at times he would get false negatives on his demo car from this test machine. WHAT? How many false negatives have occurred at the customers expense? If my wife didn’t say we will check our receipts, we would have walked out of there dealership with an additional $300 unnecessary charge on a battery we didn’t need. This made us even more frustrated with the total exchange. Not to mention Jonathan said “I was that guy.” You’re 100% CORRECT, Jonathan! I’m that guy who isn’t about to be scammed by a dealership who just tried pulling a fast one on us and FAILED! Based on this experience, it’s likely we had this dealership replace a battery six months ago based on their recommendation, that likely didn’t need replacing. Maybe, it was a false negative then. We didn’t ask for a discount (not our intention), but they gave us a $37.99 VIP Discount anyway. Moral of the story, keep your own records/receipts and don’t get played! The Service department at a dealership is one key pillar to their financial success. Unnecessary, recommendations helps them meet their finacial goals. Two cars purchased and exclusive service loyalty over the past 12 years down the drain just like that! If this was VIP treatment, we are more than happy to take our business elsewhere! More

I was forthright in my inquiry as I have a 2019 RAM that I am only 13 months into the lease. After adding one more family member, I was in need of a third row, and a possible lesser payment. I was not confident, as I know it is very challenging to get out of a lease. I inquired anyway, noting this on my initial inquiry. I was contacted by Sharon and I explained my circumstances again. I also explained that I would like to work mostly over the phone as my wife is 9 months pregnant, and I wouldn't want to waste her time driving up to Middletown from Brick. Sharon contacted me throughout the week, asking for my payoff, loan company, and the VIN. I provided this information. After following up with Sharon, I was contacted by Jason Woods, another Internet Sales associate. In our conversation, Jason noted that he was working with Sharon, that the price per month I was willing to pay to get out of my lease and into the preowned truck was reasonable and that I should come in as the manager found my truck desirable. I made an appointment and drove to All American after work. The lot and showroom are full of cars, but few people. I sat down with a salesmen, Jason, different from the internet sales associate. His immediate reaction was "this is simple math" it is not going to work. I explained that I was asked to come down. My issue is not at all that a deal could not be made; I understand "simple math." But after giving information about the truck, then being told the monthly payments are reasonable and that the manager felt my truck was sell-able and being asked to come down only to be referred to "simple math," I find this a gross, dishonest waste of my time. All American Chevy wasted my time. My wife as 2018 Equinox that when ready to be turned in, will not be going to that dealership. My father is also picking up his new Blazer tomorrow, and it is not from All American Chevy. Not because you could not make a deal- that is understandable. You lost three potential customers because you wasted my time, instead of being honest on the initial contact. More
Bait and switch or zero attention to detail? While searching for a suburban I found all American of Middletown. I inquired about a specific promotion on suburbans. The internet manager Jason Wo While searching for a suburban I found all American of Middletown. I inquired about a specific promotion on suburbans. The internet manager Jason Woods called me and confirmed they had exactly what I was looking for. I then sent an email asking for written confirmation about that same specific promotion we spoke about but I never received a response so I followed up with a call to him. Jason Woods found my email and reread it to me on the phone - and then confirmed the promotion was current and they had stock available to make a deal. I stressed that I had to take a long drive and was not looking to play games or waste time- he wholeheartedly agreed and thanked me for the attention to detail. When I arrived Tony Calabrese in sales took care of me (he was extremely nice and honest and was a pleasure to work with). Unfortunately when it came time to make a deal, i was told the deal didn’t exist on the same subject suburban. Was it the old bait and switch tactic or just zero attention to detail? Maybe a little of both because if they can’t get you in the door, they can’t make a sale. Of course when I called Jason on it, he was defensive and a tad bid combative but I guess that was expected because I’m sure the manager already had a talk with him. Needless to say , I’m bet jason is a nice guy but at the end of the day, how you do something is how you do everything and that goes for the whole dealership. Experiences like this are what gives the car buying experience a bad rap and this industry is screaming for a disruption and when it comes you can expect a lot of employees are going to be searching for a career change. HORRIBLE I would never recommend anyone to buy a car from them, I traveled 2hrs to come buy a car from them, the sales man didn't have any knowledge on the car I would never recommend anyone to buy a car from them, I traveled 2hrs to come buy a car from them, the sales man didn't have any knowledge on the car the car he was selling me, swore to me that running my credit would be an soft inquiry and wouldn't effect my fico score, get approved from the bank for the car loan so I leave them with an deposit on the car so no one else would buy the car, the next day I ask the finance manager to fight for an better interest loan because I wasn't happy with the one they offered me which was very high 10.25% and I have good credit so the finance manager tells me she's busy with another customer she will contact the bank and call me back, I never hear back from her so the next day I call them to let them know my bank approved me for 3.99% and I'm coming there to buy the car, my sales guy says the finance manager mailed you back your deposit and we sold the car this morning. I asked to speak with the general manager and they hung up the phone on me. Called back got the general manager on line and he told me we sold the car because you didn't like the rate we offered to you, no call back from the finance manager saying the bank declined a better interest rate but we will shop with another lender which all dealerships do to make there customers happy then the general manager hangs up on me too. Sorry but I wouldn't recommend anyone to ALL AMERICAN CHEVY. More
