I was greeted with a smile and helped immediately (Thanks Rachel). I even got a question answered about the navigation system (Thanks Juan). I waited for the car and service was completed promptly. While in the waiting area, I chatted with another customer who has brought her car(s) to your service department for years and has always been pleased. That was good to hear! And by the way, I LOVE my new car! Thanks Alexandria VW! Janet Donahue More

Outstanding Service Experience Coming To Wes Greenway's Alexandria VW is a pleasure! The Staff from the Front Desk of the Service Area to the Service Advisor to Exiting the Door af Coming To Wes Greenway's Alexandria VW is a pleasure! The Staff from the Front Desk of the Service Area to the Service Advisor to Exiting the Door after the Service is completed are Professional and Time Sensitive. Recently I had to return on a day that snow was predicted for a recall that was suppose to take 3 hours. My appointment was for 9:00 AM. When I arrived, the staff was ready to begin! The appointment was completed in less than 3 hours and that was wonderful because the snowfall began and I wanted to get back home before the road conditions became too hazardous. Since I became the owner of a Volkswagen this past July,2014 I have returned to VW for a regular scheduled appointment and twice for 2 different recalls. Each time, the experience has been positive. I appreciate the Wireless Internet because as a Professional, I am able to complete work rather than simply sit and wait with nothing to do. However, if I did have free time, the fact there is a Shuttle to take customers to a nearby shopping area is also an added bonus. No one really wants to sit and wait for a vehicle anytime. However, if it has to be done, the staff of Alexandria Volkswagen makes sure it is time well spent. More
Human nature is often to write “book-length” reviews of complaints, but not to take that same time & effort regarding excellent service experiences. But in the case of Wes Greenway's Alexandria Volkswagen complaints, but not to take that same time & effort regarding excellent service experiences. But in the case of Wes Greenway's Alexandria Volkswagen and VW of America Customer Service, I am compelled to take time to share what sets them head & shoulders above - in EVERY DEPARTMENT - all other dealerships and automobile makes that I’ve ever experienced personally and with friends/associates. After 5 months of online research and reviews looking for the best certified vehicle and dealer for me, I found exactly what I needed at Alex VW via AutoTrader.com. I stopped by for “just a look” at a Certified 2010 CC, and after stated that just sitting in & looking over the car was ALL that I wanted to do that day, I received immediate respect and ZERO PRESSURE from Barry L.; with full cooperation in providing me all the info I needed to leave PRESSURE FREE to go home and think about the car and my budget. I called him a few days later to stop by again for a test drive and he provided the same accommodation, respect and ZERO pressure; even after I took time to go buy lunch, research a bit more, and come back. It resulted in THE MOST PEACEFUL CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE THAT I HAVE EVER HAD, and I have the utmost admiration for the Alexandria VW sales training team and leadership. Barry L. felt like more of a “Consultant” than a “Salesperson”. My experience in the SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS BEEN EQUALLY REMARKABLE; WITH SERIVCE MANAGER JONAH KABAZZI AND SERVICE ADVISOR JUSTYNE CANNATA PROVIDING UNPARRALED CUSTOMER SERVICE EXCELLENCE. In fact, ALL OF THE ALEXANDRIA VW SERIVCE ADVISORS – including Tracy M. and Bob M. – have consistently provided me the most personable, yet thoroughly experienced information and service that I've ever experience at any dealership anywhere regarding any vehicle make…PERIOD. I agree with other Alex VW reviews that state that “this is not a service team that seeks to make busy work at the customer's expense, but a scrutinizing group that identifies the problem, makes every effort to resolve it, then carefully explains the procedure in a way the customer can understand and appreciate.” I too have had to use the dealership's Shuttle Service on more than one occasion, and they exude the same exceptional customer focused attitude Alexandria VW’s leadership team, Sales Dept., Accounting, Service Dept., and Customer Support teams. This is a tribute to Mr. Wes Greenway and his son for owning, managing and maintaining the best automotive leadership team and organization that I have ever experienced in my life. And as if this were not enough, Volkswagen of America mirrors this experience at a national level. I HAVE NEVER BEEN THIS VALUED & RESPECTED IN MY AUTOMOTIVE EXPERIENCES AS I HAVE BEEN AT ALEXANDRIA VW AND VIA VOLKSWAGEN OF AMERICA. More

Normally, I wouldn't take the time to review an automobile dealer, as I am extremely critical of contemporary automotive manufacturing techniques with their planned obsolescence typically biased he automobile dealer, as I am extremely critical of contemporary automotive manufacturing techniques with their planned obsolescence typically biased heavily toward short-term manufacturer profit over long-term customer satisfaction. But in the case of Wes Greenway's Alexandria Volkswagen I feel compelled to make note of what sets them far apart from an all-too-common model. As a lifelong car/motorcycle enthusiast, I have encountered all manner and quality of vehicle manufacturing, dealers and 3rd-party suppliers over the past 33 years. Several have made occasionally good impressions with respect to one quality or another, be it sales/customer care, product value, serviceability or product integrity, but NONE in that span has stood out in EVERY SINGLE respect...none that is until I experienced the entirety of Alexandria VW. Having begun a relationship with this dealer over the modest requirement of a handful of OEM parts, my immediate respect and admiration for Fred M. (not to mention his erstwhile partner, Roberto G.) there, caused me to risk a foray into the Service Dept. (for work which I would normally do myself). My experience in Service was no less remarkable than in Parts. From underwriters Tracy M. and Bob M., to Service Techs Joey W. and Adam F., I was initially, then perpetually treated to the most personable, yet thoroughly experienced service department members I've ever met. This is not a service team that seeks to make busy work at the customer's expense, but a scrutinizing group that identifies the problem, makes every effort to resolve it, then carefully explains the procedure in a way the customer can understand and appreciate. Having had to use the dealership's incomparable Shuttle Service on more than one occasion, I've come to know and regard even the humble shuttle drivers Cecelia S. and Solomon A. in much the same respect; they exude no less the human quality than the rest. This unconventional attitude even pervades the Sales Dept., where Marcello G. has "helped" me experience what VW has to offer through 4 different vehicles, with perhaps even more on the horizon. There is more than coincidence taking place at Alexandria VW. This is an incomparable and complete team effort. Even more than that, Alexandria VW is a remarkable family business composed of hand-selected people that resemble the sterling qualities and desires of the dealer's ownership. My hat's off to Mr. Greenway and his son for owning, managing and perpetuating the best total automotive establishment...hands-down...I have ever seen in my life. More
I brought my VW Passat to this dealership to have my sunroof repaired, which seemed to open and close during driving even if I had set it to "close". The sunroof had been an issue for a while, but I swu sunroof repaired, which seemed to open and close during driving even if I had set it to "close". The sunroof had been an issue for a while, but I swung into action only after the Washington DC area hurricane had resulted in water entering my car through my defective sun roof. My main agent was Paul. After a few hours of reviewing the car, Paul described the problem, saying that in addition to the sunroof issue, the TCM would have to be replaced ($1,900), the front chairs removed for drying the carpets, etc. etc., all told, the bill amounted to about $2,800. After expressing concern about the high price and discussing my options, the bill came down to about $2,500 after he cut back on some of the labour costs. After going home to think about it and consult with individuals highly experienced with the mechanics of VW cars, I decided to have my car towed away from the dealership, and brought it to another repair shop. They said that the TCM could be dried (i.e. it did not need to be replaced, unlike the VW's assessment), and after all was said and done, I had both the TCM issue and the sunroof taken care of for $219! My car drives wonderfully ever since. Asymmetric information between the seller of a service (in this case the dealership) and the buyer of a service (in this case me) is quite notoriously an issue which can lead to a service to the detriment of the buyer. I was just amazed how much in this case I was being unnecessarily overcharged, to the tune of more than 10 times what I really needed to pay to have the mechanical problem resolved. More

I have two volkswagons, a Jetta and a beetle and unfortunately the only dealer in Alexandria is Alexandria Volkswagon. Service is unaffordable. Every time I have taken a car there I have been handed unfortunately the only dealer in Alexandria is Alexandria Volkswagon. Service is unaffordable. Every time I have taken a car there I have been handed a list of things that "need to be done" and an estimate that is never less than a thousand dollars. I have to specify that I only want the thing that is broken fixed and even then the cost is far higher than the same repair would be on a domestic car. Sadly I have concluded that unless a dealership with an honest service department opens in Alexandria I just cant afford to own a volkswagon. Bill More
