I WAS A BUNDLE OF NERVES GOING TO BUY A NEW CAR FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MANY YEARS. BUT I CAME AWAY FROM ALEXANDRIA TOYOTA HAVING THE BEST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE OF ANY IN THE PAST. JERRY HODGES WAS PROFESS FIRST TIME IN MANY YEARS. BUT I CAME AWAY FROM ALEXANDRIA TOYOTA HAVING THE BEST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE OF ANY IN THE PAST. JERRY HODGES WAS PROFESSIONAL, COURTEOUS AND HONEST IN HIS DEALINGS WITH ME AS A NEW CAR BUYER. HE ANSWERED ALL OF MY QUESTIONS DIRECTLY AND NEVER MADE ME FEEL PRESSURED TO MAKE A PURCHASE. THE PROCESS WAS SMOOTH FROM BEGINNING TO END. THERE WAS NO HAGGLING BACK AND FORTH OVER PRICE AND OPTIONS. INSTEAD, I WAS GIVEN A FAIR PRICE ON THE CAR FROM THE START. I HAD DONE MY HOMEWORK AND KNEW GOING IN WHAT OTHER DEALERSHIPS WERE OFFERING IN TERMS OF PRICE FOR THE CAR. AND THE FIRST PRICE I WAS GIVEN AT ALEXANDRIA TOYOTA BEAT ALL OF THE OTHERS. MOREOVER, THE PRICE I WAS GIVEN FOR TRADE-IN ON MY OLD VEHICLE WAS EQUALLY FAIR. MR. HODGES TOOK HIS TIME WITH ME AND NEVER MADE ME FEEL RUSHED TO MAKE A DECISION. HE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO MAKE THIS A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE FOR ME. SINCE THEN, I HAVE CONTINUED TO DEAL WITH ALEXANDRIA TOYOTA ON A REGULAR BASIS FOR MAINTENANCE ON MY CAR. JERRY HODGES AND THE OTHER MEMBERS OF THE TEAM THAT I DEALT WITH THAT ONE DAY I WAS THERE TO MAKE MY PURCHASE REMEMBER ME EACH TIME I COME, AS THEY DO ALL OF THEIR CUSTOMERS, AND TREAT ME AS A VALUED MEMBER OF THE ALEXANDRIA TOYOTA FAMILY. THE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT IS EXCELLENT. AGAIN, IT IS ALWAYS A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE WHERE YOU WALK AWAY FEELING THAT YOU HAVE BEEN TREATED FAIRLY, HONESTLY AND PROFESSIONALLY. OVER THE YEARS, I HAVE RECOMMENDED ALEXANDRIA TOYOTA TO EVERYONE AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO. THEY DESERVE ALL THE AWARDS THEY HAVE RECEIVED AND MANY MORE. More
We purchased our Highlander in 2001 at a different dealer in Metro DC and were unhappy with their service. Upon switching to Jack Taylor/Alexandria Toyota/Scion Paul Sonnhalter took excellent care of us and in Metro DC and were unhappy with their service. Upon switching to Jack Taylor/Alexandria Toyota/Scion Paul Sonnhalter took excellent care of us and our car. I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit not trusting anyone else to work on my car. Paul is the only exception to that, he has my complete trust that he will continue to take care of us and our car to his best ability. Oh and did I metion how amazingly clean they keep the service area? More
We have had another beyond-excellent experience at Alexandria Toyota. In the recent service on our 2008 Matrix, Paul Sonnhalter went the extra mile to work with us on our scheduling and allowed us to Alexandria Toyota. In the recent service on our 2008 Matrix, Paul Sonnhalter went the extra mile to work with us on our scheduling and allowed us to pick up the car long after hours and before payment. I would call in my payment information the next morning. It is a pleasure to work with people who trust us and whom we trust. Secondly, knowing how much I love our 98 RAV and my plans to keep it running for another 100,000+ miles, Paul is always mindful of our expenses and helps us prioritize what needs to be done. Even his mechanic has gone out of his way to help me understand some of the necessary tasks of owner care that I can do. I always request Paul and his team. We never have to come back twice for the same thing at Alexandria Toyota. More
It has been my pleasure having Paul as my service advisor for many years now. When I owned a Sienna Minivan Paul gave me excellent customer service whether it was a routine maintenance appointment or someth for many years now. When I owned a Sienna Minivan Paul gave me excellent customer service whether it was a routine maintenance appointment or something more major Paul always had my best interest at heart. Now my 18 year old daughter owns a pre-owned 2004 Highlander and Paul is continuing to give her the same level of customer service that he has always given me. Recently she was in an accident thankfully everyone involved was not harmed but Paul stayed with us through the repairs at the body shop until the car was completed and met his satisfaction. He personal took the time on several occasions to go inspect the car and give us his advice and followed up with the body shop to make sure the job was done right. In today's world it is hard to find someone like Paul who genuinely cares about his customers as much as he does. A final qualify I want to highlight is Paul's ability to "think outside of the box" he as able to problem solve any situation and when he gives you his best advice you know he is thinking of what is best for you and your car from a safety and reliability standpoint. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to express my appreciation for Paul and his excellent customer service. More
I want to take this opportunity to commend one of your service team employees. Paul Sonnhalter is a credit to your organization and should be recognized for his attention to customer service. I recent service team employees. Paul Sonnhalter is a credit to your organization and should be recognized for his attention to customer service. I recently took my 2007 Camry in for service - a quite expensive repair - which did not correct the problem I originally complained about. I returned to your dealership and Paul was kind enough to address the situation with the service manager. In my frustration, I noted to Paul that, during the last year (from approximately May of 2011 to the present time) I have spent nearly $4,000 in repairs on my car. The main problem turned out to be a water pump malfunction, which was going to be another costly repair, and which had actually been the source of the original complaint. Paul and the service manager proceeded with the repair and when I picked up my car, I was advised to wait to pay the invoice. Paul told me that he was contacting Toyota Corporate to determine if there were any warranties or other relief that might be available to me. Before I left town for a week, I phoned Paul for an update and he informed me that he was still working on the matter. Today I stopped by the dealership to pay my bill and met with Paul. Although Toyota Corporate did not provide any options, Paul went to bat on my behalf with Jack Taylor's Alexandria Toyota dealership and I paid only for the parts to replace the water pump. Without Paul's intervention and his perseverance, my financial outlay would have been $2,312. As it was, my final total for the two visits was $1,508, a savings of over $800 - due exclusively to Paul's innate kindness, his recognition of the value of a good customer, and his desire to uphold the reputation enjoyed by his employer. I hope that your company will find a way to reward Paul, and to encourage all Jack Taylor's employees to follow his example of going above and beyond whenever there is an opportunity to shine. Because of Paul I remain... A Faithful Customer More

It was easy to give a "5" rating on the first four criteria to Alexandria Toyota's service department: its customer service ethic is outstanding, and Toyota's reputation for consistency in manuf four criteria to Alexandria Toyota's service department: its customer service ethic is outstanding, and Toyota's reputation for consistency in manufacturing quality and in-service training is widely recognized. I also rated "Price" at 5, which requires an explanation. Few dealership service departments offer "bargain prices" on parts or service. The term should be called "Value". I just had a 60K service and needed (right on time) four new tires and (unexpectedly) a new water pump for my 2007 RAV-4. These were the first really major services I've needed and I could have gotten some items elsewhere at lower prices. But overall, I thinK I got the best service for the money at my dealership's service department. After making two totally trouble-free trips, 5000 miles and 8000 miles in succession this past winter, I am so convinced I have the best service advisor in the area -- Alexandria Toyota's Paul Sonnhalter -- that I don't take my business anywhere else (although I do check the competition's prices so I can credibly discuss my options.) My service advisor has been good to my Toyota and, as a result, my Toyota has been good to me. Sign Me: Recently Retired in DC More
TWICE I went there for an "express lube" service, only to be told my wait time would be at LEAST two hours. Where is the "express"? We've had at least one Toyota in the driveway for 34 years. For about 30 of those years, our Toyotas have been serviced with "Jack Taylor Alexandria Toyota." Now, in any relationship that spans that much time, there'll be ups and downs. (In the bad moments, sometimes it's their fault, sometimes--one's own.) But I can report that, overall, we've experienced a consistently high level of performance from this dealership. Enough to solidly retain our business, through decades. This is a big organization, with many personnel--and once in a while, an individual may not come through for you, or treat you right. But in those (rare) cases, I've always found the management to be very responsive. In 2002, I shopped all over the DC area for a new first-generation Prius, found the best price, and then carried it to Jack Taylor's (since they were closest). They matched it--then gave me my choice of 2003's. . . . going one better! A few years later, we sold our Volvo and added a Camry hybrid. All with this dealer. Recently, I was heading out of town in the Camry, for a road trip--luggage in the trunk, and Dog as my co-pilot--when a warning light suddenly flicked on. Alarmed, I doubled back to the dealership, and they took the car in almost right away--letting me, with dog, hang out among the donuts/coffee in a corner of the waiting room. Half-hour later, we were back on the road, with free-of-charge peace of mind. (It had been only a low-tire-pressure warning.) At this point, we're intrigued by a new car--that's not a Toyota. And we're realizing that we're reluctant to trust a different dealer to service it. (Which is how I came to this website: To research other dealers.) We may end up with a new Toyota, instead . . . . thinking ahead to the service. More
