They are order takers. They are not looking to work for you and get you into a Chevy. I feel bad for the salespeople, this place needs managers that are willing to get up off their seat, show face and work you and get you into a Chevy. Maybe it’s switching models, more money down or coming up with a creative way to close a sale. It’s sad to see that during these times where they have a responsibility to the Al Piemonte family they don’t do more to close a sale. So here is full disclosure: you ask your sales associate to complete a 4 square but don’t give them the tools or way to ask. So you have them get any number to put inside a box. Well he wanted a number, so I gave him a number of $650. From there it’s your job to handle the rest. Not with “pressure”, but by building value and asking the right questions. Let me help you Nick... sir is $650 the top of your budget? The reason I ask is that in order to get you into this vehicle we are at $950. Are you able to come up. I’m open and willing to show you I want to earn your business by discounting vehicle X amount of dollars and making your payment X. Than you go from there. I have $3k down payment but why would I communicate that. Yes there is a trade... did you go look at it? Or even make an effort to push on the vehicle? You didn’t even take the time to sit down with me. My job is to keep as much of $3k in my pocket and yours is to take it out and maximize the down payment. Unless, again, you’re an order taker. I can continue to give you tips since you called out I was a trainer. But, there is no fixing you. You see, just from your response on saying maybe an LS, you can tell that you are immature and unprofessional. It’s takes a true leader to swallow pride and step up to the plate and realize you’re off your game. Also, with all the pricing available online and me communicating that I’ve been shopping around. Why start me at sticker? Nick, you need to get up off your seat, take this role a little more seriously and support your team. Lead by example and coach your team to be closers and get involved. You don’t deserve to be drinking coffee. I hope this message gets to you and you look at yourself in the mirror.
