To sum it up: I live 5 minutes from this dealership and traveled 30 minutes away to Atlantic Hyundai just because I was so turned off by this place. I went to Atlantic Hyundai on an early Friday aftern traveled 30 minutes away to Atlantic Hyundai just because I was so turned off by this place. I went to Atlantic Hyundai on an early Friday afternoon. They had 1 salesman on the whole lot and he was running around trying to help multiple customers. He was so busy we had to wait about 35 minutes until he could even help us. No big deal because we were able to peruse the different cars they had on the lot. When he finally helped us, he was very arrogant, very salesman like - talking down to us and speaking to me like I had no idea what I was talking about. The Sonata we were looking at was mismarked and listed ont he paperwork as a 4 cyl with XM, but was really a V6 without XM. Obviously they are very disorganized and overwhelemed over there. While we were sitting and talking with our salesman, another customer came over to say that her car was still NOT fixed and she seemed highly irritated and irate. The salesman took multiple calls while we were sitting with him. Then he let us take two different cars for a test drive without him because he had to help other customers. When I asked to drive a 2008 or 2009 Sonata, I was told to take the 2005 out because "they are all the same". When we came back from our test drive we started talking numbers and he was telling us ridciulous things like the longer a car sits on his lot, the higher the price goes because he has to pay interest on a car and he has to pass that interest onto the customer. Basically the cars they are unable to unload keep increasing in price. I still dont understand how that could make sense. Wouldn't you want to sell the cars you are having a hard time selling for a more reasonable price instead of a higher price? Also when I asked if his cars were Certified, he replied, "my guys are certified". Not the answer to my question and obviously a slick attempt to try and skirt my question. I asked about getting a certified warranty and was told if i wanted to add a non-certified warranty it was $500. When I told him I was going to check out Atlantic Hyundai to comparison shop, he dared me to get a better deal. I told him I would get back to him. I called him the next morning before I left to go out to Atlantic and offered him a chance to give me a better price before I went to his competitor. He dropped the price about $200 and again dared me to get a better price. I went out to Atlantic, found a car I fell in love with at a better price, called him up one last time to tell him I found a better deal and see if there was one last price reduction he could make and he says "Oh I actually just sold the car you were interested in 5 minutes ago, but you should come back tomorrow and I can show you more cars". Nevermind. I was done. They still emailed me for weeks and weeks asking me to come back in to take another look. They finally stopped when I emailed them back and told them I bought from their competitor "because Danny C dared me to". When I needed to get my car serviced last week, I called them so I wouldnt have to go back out to West Islip. I was originally there shopping for a car, I was told by the salesman that one of their great benefits is that they have loaner cars. When i attempted to make an appt for service i was told by a very rude service person that they only have a very few loaners and that nothing was guaranteed and they would let me know when I dropped off the car if i would be getting a loaner. When I asked her if there were any options to confirm a loaner prior to drop off, she asked me to hold on, put me on hold and never came back on the phone. I will never call them again or recommend them to anyone I know. Stay far away from this place. More
I didn't even get to the dealership - I did a quote online prior to going in to drive the car. When I got a call from the sales person who was happy to help, she gave me a buy price. She call me back online prior to going in to drive the car. When I got a call from the sales person who was happy to help, she gave me a buy price. She call me back with the lease price which is what I was looking for, but when I challenged the high lease price given the MSRP, she said that is all we can do, goodbye. Guess they are not looking to move cars. More
Nice dealership, nice service. Lets face it, I hate going to the dealership. But it is a necessity if you want to purchase a car. At least, they make it painless. Go to Edmunds to get invoice pricing, and th to the dealership. But it is a necessity if you want to purchase a car. At least, they make it painless. Go to Edmunds to get invoice pricing, and they will honor it. We had an 2007 Santa Fe with a 2 yr lease that was expiring, purchased an 2008 ltd, with touring, dvd package. Prices at 34k, but with 5k in rebates, we paid $200 over invoice. What a steal. We also love the fact that loaners are avail. if your car goes in for repairs. More
