Great experience - new 2019 TLX A-Line AWD I recently bought a new 2019 TLX at Acura Ramsey. Brian Waters was the lead sales professional and Aldo Nervegna was the finance professional. We reached out to 8 other Acura dealers within 50 miles during the process, which lasted around 1 week. I had made clear to each dealer that my goal was to purchase a vehicle at the end of the week (which was what I did). The way I have always purchased cars was to get competitive bids, then go with the dealer that was most responsive and had the best offer (usually, you will find that the same dealer will have the best deal and be the most responsive). Brian was the most responsive and had extremely competitive offers. In addition to being responsive, you could tell that Brian was leaning forward with his offers. He was honest in dealing with me and very knowledgeable about the cars. I was also looking at a Lexus GS 350 F-sport and when I said I would leave the dealership to test drive a Lexus, he was perfectly cool -- just told me he was around all day and that we could just call him whenever. Every time I buy a car, it is surprising to see how some of the other dealers would suddenly "match" the best offer at the last minute. It was no different this time. At least one other area dealer tried to swoop in at the last minute -- first they tried to "match" the offer as I was driving to the dealer and then they suddenly got "approval" to go down by $300 from Ramsey's price as I was picking up my car. If they were able to provide these offers, why had they not done so upfront?? In my opinion, these other dealers within 10-50 miles of Bergen County, NJ are just not as upfront as Ramsey had been throughout the process. I truly commend Brian for coming in right off the bat with a great offer that made me go straight to Ramsey. Interestingly, Ramsey was where I purchased my first car (an Acura Integra) about 23 years ago. Despite being young at that time, I recall my parents having a smooth experience in getting the Integra. In my adulthood, I had moved on to German cars, but I am glad that I went back to Acura and, of all dealers, Ramsey Acura where I bought my first car. At the end of the day, despite these last minute offers, I went with Brian and I am satisfied. We had a good laugh about these last minute offers. Brian also threw in a few things afterward which made me quite happy. Aldo then did a great job in explaining the benefits of some of the alternatives that were available, like extended warranty and other coverages. I did not get any feeling that I was being oversold. All-in-all, a great experience! More
