I just spoke with Tony Saunders the customer relations manager who stated he would speak with Bryan the Manager of Acura of brooklyn. I have hear this before and nothing has happened. I will update this post if there is any resolution, or if they continue that 1quart per thousand miles is normal. It is insane to think that you can drive 4,000 miles and almost all of your oil is gone and that is normal. ACURA You need to stand behind your cars and honor the warranty. If you google: oil consumption, Acura, mdx, 2010.....you would see I am not alone. Sometimes Acura addresses these issues and most of the time you get the insane answer " 1 quart per thousand miles is normal".

Acura of Brooklyn responded

Dear Alan, I just tried calling you but only got your voicemail. I left a message for you with my direct number so that you can reach me if you need to. Having spoken to Brian, he filled me in on exactly what happened last time you were in. We performed an oil consumption test on your vehicle which showed that you were burning oil at a rate of (approximately) 1 quart every 1,400 miles. After the test was completed Acura told us that there is no work that needs to be performed as the rate of consumption is normal (they quoted a rate of 1 quart per 1,000 miles to us). Therefore, please keep in mind that we are not refusing to complete any work for you. Acura corporate are telling us that repairs will not be covered as the rate of consumption is normal. That said, Brian is reluctant for me to tell you that nothing can be done, so he is going to be in touch with Acura corporate to see if there is anything that they can do in terms of goodwill for the issue. I will be in touch within the next couple of days with any developments. In the meantime I have left you my direct number.
