Last April, Abeloff claimed that I needed to replace my ac compressor. I authorized the repair and paid over $900. I used my Buick Enclave's a/c from may through mid-Sept. By the end of of the summer seaso ac compressor. I authorized the repair and paid over $900. I used my Buick Enclave's a/c from may through mid-Sept. By the end of of the summer season, I noticed that the air temp was not as cold as it should be. Being the end of summer I just waited until i actually would need to use the a/c. I returned last month and was shocked when the dealership stated that I needed to replace the a/c compressor yet again. This time they would only charge be $800 (I am so lucky). After I told they how could I possible need yet another compressor just after three months of use, they simply stated that it had to be replaced as it would not turn on. After I declined and went to another repair shop, I had no choice but to replace the compressor. Shockingly, both the repair shop and myself could not believe that the a/c compressor was so rusted, badly aged and so corroded looking just 1 year later. The repair shop stated that teh gaskets were not new, nor was the compressor. They simply apologized by stating that clearly the dealership ripped me off. I went immediately to Abeloff and spoke to Chris, the service manager. He explained that this wear was normal so new due to exposure to "road debris and salt during winter". So, three months of a very mild winter. So, four snow storms in which I drove my spare car and left my 2010 Enclave in my garage and never drove it during the snow or days after. This explained the rip off? Abeloff service is all about minimal expenditures and maximum revenue. The true cost for the dealership is not through sales, but through service. The pay low wages, young and inexperienced work staff and basically scam customers. Not only am I filing a compliant with the Better Business Bureau, I will also file a complaint with motor vehicles AND sue them in small claims court for a FULL refund. Don't walk away from Abeloff....RUN! More
We purchased a used Camry last week. I found the car on their website. Made an appt. for that afternoon. after speaking to the internet mgr. (Pete), we went there and felt no uneasiness or anxiety. you kno their website. Made an appt. for that afternoon. after speaking to the internet mgr. (Pete), we went there and felt no uneasiness or anxiety. you know how defensive a customer is when going to a dealership. We did not feel this and were very comfortable. Our credit was approved within minutes of presenting our application. thanks to the other Pete in Finance for setting it up. We haggled a little on our trade-in value and felt we got a fair deal. We drove the Camry home that evening. Next morning the battery (made in July 2006) did not have enough power reserves to start the car. jump started it and drove over to Abeloff's. They installed a new battery at no cost. I happened to view their website a little later and saw my car still listed in their website with a lower price. They apologized for this error. Here is something I never saw from a dealership. They HONORED the sale price. Un bee leave a bull! But true. Needless to say they will get a lot of referrals from us. More
