Spent over $4000 to service my truck at this dealership and paid in cash, I expected to spend a bunch of money as usual because its a diesel and they are expensive to upkeep. During the process of negotiat and paid in cash, I expected to spend a bunch of money as usual because its a diesel and they are expensive to upkeep. During the process of negotiating the cost of the work I brought it in for plus the extra work I was told the technician reported that also needed to be done I agreed to the cost but asked them since I was spending a lot of money at their dealership to waive the shop fees which are extra fees on top of the repair cost which in this case was $113.14 and they agreed. When I picked up the truck I asked them to bring it up to the drive so I could do a walk around and inspection before paying the bill, I wanted to make sure since it is a F350 super duty dully and they had to lift the bed to perform part of the repairs that it was not damaged, they agreed to bring it up for inspection. When it was pulled up to the driveway the exhaust was rattling because the tech failed to tighten the exhaust hangar bolt that attaches it to the frame and I noticed he had left the spare tire loose underneath the rear of the bed and it was dangling and swaying back and forth hitting against the frame, mind you they test drove it this way which speaks to their quality control. I asked the service writer who was there at the time if he could have them secure the tire and have a technician tighten the bolt to the exhaust hangar, after arguing with me that they hadn't touched that area he finally realized after looking at the paperwork that yes those items were loosened during the repair process and tried to find someone to help secure the two items. It was a Saturday and they had a skeleton crew working so he was unable to find someone to fix the problem. At the time I had a flatbed wrecker standing by to take my truck back to the ranch because I couldn't drive two vehicles at the same time and the ranch is 36 miles from the dealer so I asked for them to lend me two wrenches and I crawled under the truck right there on the driveway and fixed it myself so the wrecker driver could put it on the flatbed, mind you I was paying $4000 for this. When I fixed the two problems I went in to pay the bill. I asked the cashier if I could have my senior citizen discount and she told me she would have to ask the gentleman who was running the drive that morning because she was new there and couldn't make that call which I thought was a bit strange because most businesses give senior citizen discounts. The service writer texted the service manager Mike Tinsley who was not at the dealership that day about the senior citizen discount and Mr. Tinsley refused the discount saying he waived the shop fee of $113.14 so I didn't deserve the senior discount which would have been around $350, keep in mind I spent over $4000 cash at their dealership and they agreed to waive the shop fee as part of the negotiations so I would allow them to complete the extra work on top of the original work I initially brought it in for which was around $1700 of the over $4000 I agreed to spend... unbelievable! I received a survey from the dealership the Monday after I picked up the truck asking me about my experience at their facility and I filled it out and received a reply from Mr. Tinsley who I gave a low grade to on the survey, which I also thought was funny that the guy who got the low score was also the same guy that reviews the surveys and not a higher up like the general manager or dealership owner, Mr. Tinsley replied that he actually gave me $380 discount which is a falsehood because when I received the text from the service advisor the original quote for all the work to be performed was $4277.99 and my bill after the shop fees that were waived was $4172.05 so his math does not add up and I figured he was trying to cover himself, it pays to save all the correspondence from the texts they send you since they rarely speak to you on the phone there. I am very sure my concerns will fall on deaf ears at this dealership which will not surprise me since the indifference at the top always bleeds down to the subordinates in any business. Last but not least after looking at the bill I noticed they had my name correct but the address wrong, the address they used just happened to be where the truck broke down and had to be towed from but the correct address was on the piece of paper that was on the dashboard with the rest of the contact info that the service advisor asked me to put there before getting towed in, the devil is always in the details and in this case the lack of attention to the details and Mr.Tinsleys refusal to give a senior citizen discount is the reason for the low score. Oh well... you live and you learn. Cheers. More
Had many experiences with other Ford Dealers for over 30 years. Gosch has been the best experience, not just once, but consistently. You can't go wrong with Gosch. years. Gosch has been the best experience, not just once, but consistently. You can't go wrong with Gosch. More
