Watch out for excessive beyond maintenance manual recommendations. The Ford maintenance manual will tell you what is needed for your Mustang so long as you follow the recommended maintenance. Things recommendations. The Ford maintenance manual will tell you what is needed for your Mustang so long as you follow the recommended maintenance. Things such as "perform engine crankcase cleaning service", fuel system induction cleaning service, and "Fridgi Fresh sanitizer service for the Cabin Filter replacement are not in the manual. I scheduled my service online for this 2014 Mustang with less that 45,000 miles on it and indicated the service I wanted. For whatever reason this information does not get transferred over to the actual day of the appointment. I have always had to re-state the service I wanted done. This morning when I was checked in the advisor (not my usual guy) only noted the recall in effect. But I had wanted a 45,000 factory service ( had actually stated a 9 year service but it's in the same boat). Nowhere does the Factory service state any of these types of service. To my fault when I pointed out that I had scheduled a STANDARD service the "advisor" shoved a piece of paper in front of me with 2 columns and without explanation. The column on the left was much longer than the column on the right. Without paying enough attention I briefly scanned it and pointed to the column on the right. My mistake, as these dealer added service items where down at the bottom of the list. The top looks like normal factory maintenance. So II am out $797 of which $579 is more than what I had indicated and expected in my online service selection for my wife's 2014 V6 Mustang Convertible. So word of caution...read carefully what they shove in front of you. Better yet, type up and bring with you exactly what the factory service manual states is the recommended service (and what you tried to indicate online when you scheduled your service) at the indicated mileage for your Ford Mustang (or any other Ford vehicle for that matter). This is not the first time that I have noticed this beyond factory recommended maintenance add-on ever since Gosch purchased Escondido Ford. The advisor recommended a Fuel Induction Service for my other Ford Mustang (a Performance pack Model). I did not recall ever seeing this so I asked the advisor to show in the manual where that was. He pulled out this glossy book that showed this service. So I agreed to it. My car smelled bad for 2 weeks after that and my MPG has not been up as high as it was before that service. Oh and it's not in the maintenance manual. I could see such a need if someone uses poor grade gas. But I have only used Chevron with Techron gas from day one. I have cancelled my appointment for the following day for my 2014 Ford Mustang V6 Performance Pack. I have serious doubts about ever having either car serviced there again. Not a complaint on the quality of the service done, but on the "non-factory maintenance schedule add-ons" that they keep slipping in. I never had these issues with the previous ownership. Despite all of the 5 stars I see to right of this survey I cannot imagine that I am alone with this. More
