Today, I visited Aaron Chevrolet in Lake Elsinore intending to purchase our next family vehicle. My wife and I spent about two hours at the dealership, test-drove a truck, and worked through the numb intending to purchase our next family vehicle. My wife and I spent about two hours at the dealership, test-drove a truck, and worked through the numbers with our sales representative and store manager Ely Gutierrez. Everything was progressing smoothly until the final details. When I asked Ely if the vehicle would be detailed and fully gassed up for delivery, he offered to put in only $25 worth of gas. On a $43,000 purchase, refusing to provide a full tank of gas as a standard courtesy and sign of appreciation felt unreasonable. When I mentioned that every other dealership I've bought from has always filled the tank as a basic courtesy, Ely refused to budge, repeating that $25 was his limit. When I expressed my disappointment and mentioned I would be sharing my experience in a review, Ely Gutiérrez Sales Manager escalated the situation. He instructed the sales rep to cancel the deal entirely and stated he would no longer sell us the vehicle—simply because I voiced honest feedback. Retaliating against a customer by canceling a $43,000 sale over a review is completely unprofessional. I hope the dealership ownership reviews this incident, addresses Ely's handling of the situation, and re-evaluates how customers are treated at Aaron Chevrolet. Ely Gutiérrez Sales Manager clearly took feedback personally instead of handling it like a professional business manager. To cancel a $43,000 sale and put a customer through that level of embarrassment over a basic tank of gas is unbelievable. I feel bad for Aaron Chevrolet if this is how management treats paying customers. I hope ownership reviews this incident, addresses Ely's behavior, and ensures no other customer has to go through an experience like this. More
