Never Again My first used car buying experience was awful to say the least. Needless to say its a long story but it boils down to..... Bought the car in March. ( My first used car buying experience was awful to say the least. Needless to say its a long story but it boils down to..... Bought the car in March. (the buying process went smoothly so I will give Taylor and Tien fair marks for that). Put down $4000, within 30 minutes alarms started sounding to turn off engine! Asked that I bring back that next Monday. They sent it to one of their specialty shops where it was diagnosed with cam shaft sensor, oh no wait-oil housing piece, oh no wait-timing chains, oh no wait-cam shaft broke, I am getting a new engine (but not new or even refurbished, but it has less miles then the one in it). The first used engine sent wasn't the right one, they put the second one in and hooked everything up and it started leaking EVERYWHERE. This part is where the dealership and the shop started wobbling on their loyalty to each other and where I was already at a level 10 of pissed off. There is a definite lack of communication unless I was to consistently try contacting them (both the shop and the dealership). $4000 down and two car payments later, I finally received my vehicle in JUNE (2 and half months after purchase). The dealership and shop no longer do business with one another and I STILL cannot get a clear answer on where the warranty for the engine is. Dealership owner says the shop told him 30 days, and that he was pushing them for 90 days but that because they didn't pay for the engine and the shop made a mistake that warranty falls under the shop. The shop says any warranty there is on the engine was sent to the dealership and if something happens to go to the dealership. Its a complete joke how my head is REELING from all of this back and forth. Like I said in the title of my review. NEVER AGAIN! Mike (owner) gets poor as for his lack of communication, and all the BS I have been put through. More

Professionally Polite and Respectfully This was my first time visiting 518 Auto Sales. I wasn’t too sure what to expect once I arrived. When I pulled into the lot, I saw tp guys talking and This was my first time visiting 518 Auto Sales. I wasn’t too sure what to expect once I arrived. When I pulled into the lot, I saw tp guys talking and I was immediately greeted by John Ducote. He asked me what was I looking for and I told him. He pointed the vehicle I was interested in and he said he will get the keys and a license plate and I could test drive it. The test drive was great. Once we return we discussed the next process if I wanted to proceed. He explained it straight forward with no pressure in buying. I told him what I was comfortable in doing and he spoke with the manager and I was able to get what I wanted after negotiations. Afterwards, I went into the finance office and sat with Tien Lien. He had all is paperwork organized and ready to go. It had some additional options to select if I choose to accept and I was satisfied with the process. He did a great job. What didn’t work out so well was the filling of the gas. John has mentioned he would check the gas and while I was in Tien office he would get it filled up and cleaned up. Afterward, we got outside the rest of the employees congratulated me on my purchase and we took some great pictures. John did offer to drive the car to my residence but I told him I would come back later in the evening. I came came with my wife and when gotten and started the car up I noticed the tank was at a quarter filled. I called John and didn’t get him and asked Manny if he had another number to John’s cell phone. He said no and there was nothing he could do more because management was gone for the evening but I could come back tomorrow and talk to John or I can leave the keys and John will fill it up. I gave Manny the key. Shortly afterwards John calls me back and explain to me that they are only authorized to put $5.00 worth of gas in the car. That part of a miscommunication. The other thing I was hoping for was a spare key. There wasn’t one and it’s going to cost couple hundred of dollars to have one laser cut and programmed. Overall this was a great experience and I learned a lot once again in purchasing a used car. John did say if I had any questions to give him a call. I would recommend 518 Auto Sales. More
