SHOP ELSEWHERE! They ALL lied to us! LIARS!!! Stay away! My son drove and decided to purchase (cash) a 97 Lexus LS 400 at 505 Motors in 3/2016. Car looked, ran and handled great - the kid LIARS!!! Stay away! My son drove and decided to purchase (cash) a 97 Lexus LS 400 at 505 Motors in 3/2016. Car looked, ran and handled great - the kid really put it thru its paces on the test drive. Heat and air were not operative but kid was pretty sure he knew what the problem was. Price negotiated - $500 off their asking price, DEPOSIT PAID and CONTRACT generated. We were to pick up car when fuse box replaced by dealer so heat/air operative. Runaround began. First told car's not ready then kid gets text from Sam (sales guy) that kid could "come pick out different car or come back for his deposit." ?! Mom (me) calls them - receptionist Polly tells me car had serious issues and could not be sold - they were sending it back to auto auction. BUT THEN my kid gets Sam on his phone who tells him "car is on consignment and he was calling the owner to make sure they could sell it....and yes, the car was still there - then kid was told owner decided not to sell it and "whoever told kid car was unable to be sold didn't know what they were talking about." THEN.. 505 Motors owner "Jeff" gets on the phone (whom Polly had said was not at the dealership a minute before) and HE tells kid car is not even on the lot anymore. These calls were all in a 2 min time period....clearly these UNETHICAL folks have issues with telling the truth. Pretty sure they replaced the fusebox and SOLD the car to someone else at a HIGHER PRICE even tho my son had a deposit and contract on it. If it had been worth the time and aggravation I would have filed a complaint with the IL States Attorney for contract fraud. Still may do this. 505 did refund the kid's deposit promptly. Oh - and the salesguy used every pushy 1970's sleazy used car salesman stereotypical verbiage in the book which we did expect. My kid handled that well (I was very proud of him!) BUT....after price was negotiated and kid gave his credit card for the deposit, when we looked at the contract Sam the salesman had UPPED the agreed-upon price by $100, from $2400 to $2500. So if you purchase at 505 Motors, read your contract carefully! More

They also put a warranty on his loan he didnt ask for then told him the lender required it. The saddest part of it all was this was my grandsons first car, he got to drive it one day. Stay far far away!!!!! More

Pretty Lemon The car I bought from this dealer to get my son back and forth to college was pretty but it was a piece of crap. The check engine light came on 3 days after we bought it and we had to have it towed off the highway. We've had nothing but problems with it! I took it to the Mazda dealership and they gave me a list 5 pages long of things that needed to be fixed on it. I then took it for a 2nd opinion and the mechanic said there is no way 505 Motors didn't know what a piece of junk it was and there is no way they should've sold it to us. He agreed with the list of repars that Mazda gave me. I've put as much money into it as we paid for it just to try to keep it running. I went in to talk to them, to see if they would at least split the repair cost with me but they said no. We've had the car for 6 months and he's put less than 500 miles on it because it's always breaking down. I would not recommend buying a car from them unless u take a mechanic with you! More
