I have bought 2 cars within the past year and a half from this location 1st car was a 2018 GMC Acadia. I LOVE IT. HOWEVER I noticed a pull in the transmission within the first week of driving it. Took it over to gateway service and they told me no issues were found, 2 weeks later I took it to Luther and we’ll… hadn’t I purchased the extended warranty I would have replaced the transmission out of pocket within the month of purchase. Was told by this clearance center that “things happen” 2nd vehicle is a 2015 Kia Optima Hybrid. I LOVE IT. HOWEVER I Drove it to California 2 months after purchase and I had to leave it there and rent a car to drive home it is currently anticipating a transmission replacement and the front struts are completely rusted and the spring on one side has collapsed. The transmission will be covered under the warranty purchased but it is not safe to drive the car without replacing the front struts and the steering linkage (rusted and has play in the linkage) Total for these repairs is $3,068 anyone who deals with warranties knows they don’t cover rust and it’s impossible for me to obtain that amount of damage to a vehicle I’ve had for 2 months.. I called the clearance center and spoke with Andy and he left me hanging with a yet again “things happen” I will no longer be purchasing my vehicles from here or referring friends to this dealer.
This isn’t your run of the mill review. I bought a truck on November 1st from the Gateway Clearance a center in Fargo. Everything was awesome. Brandon Schafer really took the time to come from the main dealership to the clearance center to help me. After the sale, the manager Ryan Payson, told me that if a problem with the truck pops to return and talk with him. Well not three weeks later the vehicle started having issues. I checked my transmission fluid which only made me even more worried. The transmission fluid looked like engine oil. I brought the vehicle back and then reached out to Ryan Payson like he asked me to do. Turns out the torque converter went out, causing the transmission to burn out. Ryan Payson worked with me through the whole problem and made things right. My vehicle was fixed and back with me in just days. Ryan didn’t blow me off or tell me too bad. This isn’t service that you get when you go to other dealerships in the F-M area. I’ve been to other dealerships and have had horrible experiences and problems with vehicles I bought. My wife and we’re spoke with the dealerships and they drug their feet and tried to take advantage of my wife being a woman. NOT GATEWAY CHEVROLET. Gateway treated us with respect and dignity. Hands down go to Gateway for a vehicle. I for one will never go to another dealer in the area.
From the moment I walked in, to the time I left with a new vehicle, staff was amazing. My salesman came from the main dealership to the clearance center to make sure I was taken care of. Even though this dealer is in a big city, they had all the time in the day for me. Highly recommend these guys over a bigger dealership.
