What Others Say

Worst service department ever. My F150 was going nuts shifting up and down while the dash was flashing everything. A couple years earlier the service manager talked me into an additive for brakes, steering, transmission and rear end that had repair warranty. Witham service told me I needed a transmission rebuild, brake rebuild and steering sector rebuild. At least they gave me a loaner because it was in the shop for 4 weeks. When they called to say it was ready and had been road tested I went to pick it up. The additive company only covered 1/3 of what was earlier promised because Witham had incorrectly made out the application. First drive off the lot got me 3 blocks before it did exactly the same thing. Went back and they claimed the trans kit must have been faulty. Will rebuild. 2 more weeks in shop and the call came telling me, by the way we had to replace the computer chip too. $6,000 out of pocket but it ran. Took it to another mechanic for an oil change 1 week later. When I picked it up he told me 1 bolt had fallen out a brake caliper and the rest were loose. Also the pads had been changed without replacing the rotors just flipping them over. He also noted no one had touched the steering that was claimed to be repaired. Of course Witham denied wrongdoing and refused to go back to the additive company.

I have been there several time and they seem to wait on everybody but a black girl they left my rear light hanging off after my oil change and asking me who was my mechanic they don't introduce themselves like for real

I was initially quoted $150.00 to service my rear differential seal. They kept my car for close to a week and the final bill was close to $1500.00, 10x the original quote. After my extreme disgust and concern for this egregious outcome, they gave me a 10% discount. I learned later that this dealership was known for gouging their customers and doing work not required or necessary. I have decided to travel the distance to Roling Ford in Shell Rock some 30 miles away with great pleasure as to their honesty and customer care.

Here is our experience with Witham. You can draw your own conclusions. We have a serious problem with the 2013 Equinox we bought from your dealership on June 4, 2022. First let me say that I have been a New and Used Car Salesman, Used Car Manager, Fleet Manager, and a Service Writer so I know what it means to buy a used car as is. I also know that the dealership has a responsibility to put cars out that don’t need major work and are safe to drive. Our Equinox does not pass either of the tests. It was my understanding talking with 2 Salesman and the used car manager that the Equinox had been through a 27-item checklist. The salesman was unable to provide us with that though I asked for it. Here is what I found with my check. 1. We put approximately 300 miles on it in a couple days and found that it was smoking terribly. I checked the oil and there was no oil on the dipstick. I called the used car manager and explained the situation. Of course, his first answer was we bought it as is. I told him I thought they knew about the smoking, which was why it was priced $2000 below retail instead of $2000 over retail like all the other cars on the lot. I also told him I thought the people who traded it in knew that too. It didn’t smoke when we were test driving it. I told him there was a problem with the motor that could not be fixed without major work. He responded that I was just guessing. I have been working on cars since I was 16 and I am now 72 so I think I know what I am talking about. He wanted me to take it to a shop and have it checked out, at my expense of course. 2. The mechanic who looked at the Equinox agreed that the oil was 2 quarts low. (I sent the mechanic’s diagnosis to the used car manager) In addition he told me the rear main seal was leaking. Not dripping but was wet. We added oil 3. After adding oil, I started it up and rechecked it and the level was OK. However, when we looked at the oil. It was very black, even with the new oil. 4. In addition, there is a hole in the muffler under the passenger seat, which I pointed out to the salesman after the test ride and there was a click in the front end, which is probably the front CV joint on the passenger side. I didn’t think either was more than I could handle. I found out later that the problem with the muffler was caused by the oil burning so the converter is probably bad too. 5. It was not disclosed to us that you have a return policy as stated on your website. 6. It was not disclosed to us that the Equinox’s first 43,000 miles was spent in rental service according to Carfax. 7. We have not been able to drive the car because of all these problems 8. The used car manager said the best he could do was to trade it in. I don’t know exactly what that means but after reading some of your reviews I think he means he will offer $2500 for a vehicle that cost us $7200. We have not heard anything more from him anyway. I don’t know why you would retail a car that should have been a back-of-the-lot special. I don’t know why the oil was 2 quarts low after we put 300 miles on it. I don’t know why the oil is so black after supposedly being changed. I don’t know how it could have passed a 27-point check with a bad muffler , a bad CV joint and smoking.

Their parts department really struggles to order the correct parts. Several times I've ordered a few hundred dollars worth of parts through them on separate orders, only to find that they ordered the wrong parts even while having my vehicle VIN. Very disappointed in this dealership. Will not bring them any more of my business.

Long story short. I purchased a solid 2005 F150 from them a few months ago. 50k miles. It developed a small stutter when accelerating onto the highway. They said it was timing tensioners, i said ok and let them fix it. BAD IDEA! Truck has had non stop problems every since. First they timed it wrong and now the engine just runs bad. poor idle and misfires. 5th time back so far and still no progress all the while they tell me it runs fine. I regret ever buying from them. Never will again.
