What Others Say
I’ve had two cars with MAG BMW over the past three years and every time I’ve had to deal with their service department it’s been a nightmare. The communication is awful, they never set clear expectations, and you get charged for everything along the way. Anytime there’s an issue, they make it feel like it’s the customer’s fault and no manager ever takes responsibility. The whole department feels poorly run and full of excuses. I would never purchase another car from this dealership and strongly recommend avoiding them altogether
I worked with MAG BMW of Dublin, OH (Chris Zane, Sales Consultant) for weeks to find and purchase a 2025 i4. I sent written specifications for the i4 I wanted, using the Build Your Own feature on the BMW webpage, and relied on my sales consultant to find the car via dealer search. The sales consultant acknowledged the receipt of the specifications in writing. Among those specifications were all season tires. I understand the importance of this detail when buying a car in the winter in central Ohio.
I took delivery of the car December 30th, 2024. Soon thereafter I was astonished to find the car was delivered with summer tires. These are utterly useless, and dangerous in winter in central Ohio and I’ve left the car parked since. I contacted the dealer on January 6th (Steve Johnson, Sales Manager and Chris Zane, Sales Consultant) proposing a no cost swap of these summer tires (with only 94 miles on them) for the BMW starred specified all seasons I had spec’d out, but they have not agreed. Rather, they have been slow to respond and indifferent to a situation where I have no use of the vehicle. They show no sense of urgency or commitment to resolving this satisfactorily.
Steve Johnson was great to work with in the process of leasing my new XM label. He and his team made it pleasant to receive this beast.
I recently purchased a 2016 BMW i8 with cash from this dealership, expecting everything to be in order and as described. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory.
Firstly, I was given two keys, but one of them was broken. Additionally, there was no charger provided for the hybrid car, and the systems were down. Despite a brief test drive of less than a mile, which was not sufficient to assess the car's condition, I proceeded with the purchase based on the dealership's assurances.
Driving the car home from Ohio to New Jersey, the drivetrain malfunction warning came on halfway through the trip. I immediately notified the salesman, who advised me to drive it slowly and take it to a BMW dealership for inspection. This issue should have been detected and disclosed by the dealership before the sale.
Moreover, I had to purchase a third-party warranty since the dealership did not offer one. They keep insisting that the vehicle was sold "as is," but it's clear they were negligent and aware of the preexisting condition. Unfortunately, I do not have a scanner to confirm the codes, but they would have undoubtedly appeared.
Now, I am facing a $5,000 repair bill for issues that should have been addressed by the dealership beforehand. This level of negligence and lack of transparency is unacceptable. I will be taking further action against this dealership and strongly advise others to avoid doing business with them.
⚠️ WARNING ⚠️ - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALERSHIP!
I rarely take the time to post reviews, but I feel compelled to warn other people about my horrible experience while trying to buy a used car from this dealership. I have been searching for a particular vehicle and contacted this dealership immediately after I saw one they had just posted online. Without going into great detail, I spent the majority of my day communicating with the salesman and later the finance manager. We agreed on a price and I made it very clear throughout the process that I definitely wanted this car and specifically told them not to sell it to anyone else. I responded immediately whenever I was asked to do anything, filled out paperwork, etc. I live out of state so I proceeded to make travel arrangements, request time off from work, etc., not to mention moving money around to make the transaction work. I was awaiting instructions to transmit the deposit to hold the vehicle, but the salesman left for the day without telling me. At no time was I ever given any indication that there was any issue with me purchasing this vehicle. I was so excited because I was finally going to get my dream car!
After all that, I received a text from the salesman the next morning telling me that somebody else bought the car and that I should call the general manager, Steve Johnson. The GM told me that there was another salesman who sold the car and actually claimed that he did not tell anybody at the dealership until the deal was done. Of course, that is completely impossible as salesman are always in contact with their managers throughout the entire sales process. I had even spoken to the finance manager the day before and he certainly would have been aware of any pending transactions, yet never said anything. Adding insult to injury, the GM ended with a disingenuous "we apologize for any inconvenience and have a nice day" text!
Everything I have said is 100% factual and can be fully substantiated by the text exchanges I have.
I had read all the negative reviews about this dealership beforehand, but decided to proceed anyway because I really wanted my dream car and this one checked all the boxes for me. To anybody else who ever considers doing business with this dealership, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. They give car dealers a bad name and that is really saying something!
The absolute worst service we’ve ever encountered in the years we’ve owned vehicles. We were given the run around regarding repairs needed. Told one thing needed repaired however paid for an entirely different piece. Quoted the wrong price before repairs. We live an hour and a half away and had to have the car towed to this location due to the proximity of the flat. I will happily spend the extra money and have the car towed to anywhere but this dealership for servicing. Absolute worst experience. If I were you run the a
Other direction.
