Not a fan. I looked at new cars here in 2019, the salesman wanted to argue about a Military discount I was entitled to so I went to Lou Fusz in St. Louis. Much easier to deal with. First oil change they tried to upsell me on unnecessary services. When I needed a battery they told me a story about if you have one installed some places like Auto Zone, you will have problems because of a computer reset - which was not applicable to my CX-5. I have my oil changed there because it's convenient and I have no issues with the technicians, just the rigamarole at the service desk. I feel because I'm female they think they can snow me. The service writers are polite and we keep it to the minimum now since I go in with a copy of the schedule in my hand. It's probably no different from any other dealership, I've just not encountered this before.
Unbelievably, I'm going to report a great outcome after a disaster of a start. I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2019 CX-5 DIESEL from Jon Ballas on 02/12/2024. 36 hours later, the check engine light came on. What followed was a nearly 3 month journey that took 3-4 trips through the service department, all the while never truly figuring out what the issue was (something to do w/ the emissions system). All the while, the two service front desk employees Tory and Cory were great, always providing a loaner (I live 90 minutes away). I lived in loaners more than I did my own vehicle. After what all thought was the final repair, less than 40 minutes after I picked the diesel Mazda up (mind you, this is the only diesel Auffenberg Mazda had encountered before), the check engine light was on once again. I called Jon and said I was done. I needed out of the diesel. After several days, Jon had me in a brand new Mazda, no diesel, and I am extremely pleased. The way the service representatives handled the situation throughout the 2.5 month ordeal, how they handled my frustrations, and their own as they were trying everything they could to figure out the car's issues, was nothing short of amazing. This situation was awful; however, because they worked hard w/ me and among themselves to make everything right, I have nothing but appreciation and gratitude for Jon, Tory, and Cory.
I just bought a new 2023 CX5 from Auffenberg location in Shiloh, IL. It has been the absolute worst experience of my life. I will never buy another vehicle from this dealer or recommend them to anyone. I was told my car would arrive in 4-8 weeks, it took 3 months. When the car arrived, it had a different vin number than the one I was waiting on, thus indicating Auffenberg sold the car I was actually supposed to get in the 4-8 week window. I had the rims powder coated black. The technician working on this called in sick mid-job, this was on a Saturday. I was told I couldn't pick up my car now until Monday. Because Auffenberg in Shiloh only has one technician? Seriously, a big company like Mazda only has one person capable of painting wheels! I received this information via a text. Extremely unprofessional. After having the vehicle for a month and a half, I noticed a deep cut in the rear leather seat that exposed the foam. I was told this was my responsibility and Mazda would not cover the damage they caused. I have never been treated so poorly when spending so much money. I can not say enough negative things about this place. Go anywhere else to purchase your Mazda. This place is a joke.
GREAT!. Dave in Service went above and beyond to make sure I was completely satisfied with all work performed. I received status updates along the way, and my car was ready sooner than expected. I highly recommend this dealership.
Justin and the crew are always nice and professional!! The new video that shows me the maintenance being performed on my car is an added bonus!
Staff very friendly and professional. Waiting room nice and clean along with bathrooms. Wait time was minimal also.
