What Others Say

Beware of Boston Volvo. If I could give a minus rating, I would. Worst customer experience of my entire life. Wish I'd checked out their rathings before I went there. They gave me a printout of the car I wanted. I gave them my credit card. Then they pulled an 11th hour switch that I rejected until they admitted they made a mistake. When I went to see and sign for the car, they showed me a totally different car than the one we agreed on, and pretended I didn't remember correctly. A new level of deceptive practice and classic bait and switch. These guys cannot be trusted. As another reviewer wrote, "Boston Volvo should not be allowed to represent Volvo cars." Salesman was Steve Martinez and Manager is Steve Savage. Avoid at all costs.

Horrible experience buying a new car. Ordered an XC40 from Ricari and on the day I ordered we agreed on the price (MSRP) and I received paperwork reflecting agreed price. I waited 3 months as expected for the car to be delivered to dealer. When the car arrived I went to Boston Volvo to pick it up and pay what we had agreed. Ricari suddenly told me the price had gone up by $1,000 because 'that is what the manufacturer is charging us extra.' (I had spoken to him many times before picking up the car and he never mentioned an increase in price.) I refused to pay the extra amount and so they kept me waiting for almost 2 hours while Ricari, Michael in Finance and Gary the GM tried to 'sort things out'. When I finally got the car, I reviewed the Monroney sticker (by law the dealer must give this to you when you buy a new car as it reflects information including the MSRP from the manufacturer) in the glove compartment and it confirmed that they were not charged more by the manufacturer. Bait & switch. I will go out of my way to have my car serviced at another dealership. An aside, if the dealer tries to upsell you the bronze, silver and gold protection, go to AAA and get the same coverage for 50% less.

Bought a CPO vehicle on a Thursday. Five days later I was on my way to pick it up when they texted me that the car was not ready. They “found” a cracked bumper and ripped upholstery that needed repair. What was it doing on the lot as a certified vehicle? When I got the car a week after I bought it, the replacement bumper was installed wrong. I had to go back to the dealer and wait all day while they fixed it. Since it drove with a shimmy I had them do a 4 wheel alignment (they reimbursed me for it after 5 weeks of nagging them). The car still shimmied so I balanced the tires and found out it had a bent wheel. Boston Volvo refused to fix or replace the bent wheel. It cost me $600 to get the wheel right and that was buying a remanufactured wheel on eBay. Be careful buying a Certified Used vehicle from Boston Volvo. They don’t prep the cars well and they don’t take care of you when you find their mistakes. They'll tell you that they put $4,000 into preparing their cars; the car I bought had a dirty interior (sweat stained seat belt and crumbs in the back seat), cracked bumper, ripped upholstery and a bent wheel. Really, the more important thing is that they dragged their feet making it right, and wouldn't make some things right. When you're spending 50k on a used car, it should be a better experience than this one was.

Rachel B. Was a tremendous help when I leased my new XC60. She brought the car to me in N.H. And spent time demonstrating the car’s functions. The finance department completed the transaction easily. I highly recommend Rachel B. And Boston Volvo Village.

Not an honest dealer. They try to attract people at the beginning by saying there will be large discount because it is close to end of the month. When they actually quoted me, there was absolute no discount, because they said the model we were looking at is a popular one. They even forgot to add incentives that I should get (Costco, for example). No discount was given and they instead asked me what's the price I am happy with. They also tried to trick me by offering a final price of MSRP on the website plus destination fee. However, the MSRP on the website already includes the destination fee! The whole process to get a real quoted price takes a lot of time. When we were planning to leave, a manager suddenly showed up and told us price is negotiable. There are much better Volvo dealers if you are willing to drive a little bit away from Boston.

Braeden was friendly, helpful and answered all our questions with no pressure. He was very pleasant
