So I bought a cash car, but shouldn't have..no one came out to greet me or even see If they could help me. They were not friendly people at all. I had looked up the company on BBB and they have good ratings but not sure how. The 03 altima that I purchased had issues the day after I bought it. Electrical problems I believe since one headlight doesn't work and the other is stuck on.
We had issues with this Lumina after 6 months. Could not get the check engine light to go out after hundreds of dollars in work, and it had a stinky gas smell we couldn't get rid of. After speaking to the folks over at Texas Sales, they agreed to a voluntary repossession, no money out of pocket, and we owed about what the car was worth, so there was no problem there. Incidentally, the car has sold TWICE since we gave it back. Once on finance, once for cash. I would assume they won't be getting it back again since it was sold for cash that last time. This lot regularly has cheaper cash vehicles (on the 7-11 side) and plenty of cars for $500-$1000 down. I would still recommend going to them but as always with a used car, insist on having YOUR MECHANIC inspect the vehicle thoroughly. It's $100 well spent up front, that may save you HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS later.
My wife bought her 1998 Lumina here and so far it's been the best car she has owned. It does have its share of problems but nothing that isn't common to all Luminas (power window stopped working on driver's door, turn signal switch turns off brake lights when turn signal is on). The car was priced fairly for the year and mileage and we didn't get completely hosed in finance. It was clean when we got it and hadn't really been messed with. The only complaint I have is when we wanted to get the car inspected, the dealership wouldn't help us get one or recommend a place to take it, so we had to take our chances with a Jiffy Lube, and that worked out well, they gave us the benefit of the doubt with the turn signal/brake light problem.
