Horrible experience with my XC60 Oil Consumption Recall
It started with the Oil Consumption Recall which was approved, took 6 months, got car back, severe oil leak developed, car went back to them, another 3 months went by and I got a call to pick up car, but they called to say now it wouldn't start. Timing belt that they installed failed and destroyed the cylinder head. Another 3 months went by as they had to get a brand new cylinder head from Volvo. I drove the car for 9K miles with one oil change and then the cylinder head failed - the valves bent in only one cylinder head (extremely unusual). They have no explanation other than to say they "can't rule out that I had someone mess with the timing belt eventhough the cam was correctly timed (timing belt markings were not were they should be). They and Volvo will not cover the damages and my XC60 is a total loss. If your Volvo needs the Oil Consumption recall, DO NOT take it here. A friend of mine took theirs to the Lynnwood dealership and they had their car back in one week.

My C70 has been at Tacoma Volvo for 2 months! It’s always been maintained and needed one repair. The manager, Kyle, keeps coming up with more and more things that need to be done and weeks of waiting for parts and repairs. The car didn’t have any of these problems when I brought it in. They keep telling me the car is fixed but won’t let me come get it and then come up with another problem. I have an extended warranty on it and they were arguing repair charges. I said I’d just pay and then either Volvo or the warranty company can reimburse me but Volvo refuses! I have one of their loaners but I want MY car back. There’s something fishy going on; I think they’ve damaged my car and are trying to find parts/repair it. Tomorrow I’m calling Volvo upper management, the BBB, and the Attorney General’s office.
I love my Volvo, I hate dealing with the service department at Volvo Tacoma. WARNING: if you purchase a new Volvo you will need to use the service department. I've had to use the service department at Volvo of Tacoma several times since purchasing my new vehicle in 2020. Every time they keep the car longer than they estimate, or they fail to provide the promised courtesy car, or they simply don't return you phone call to schedule recall service work. I have owned Volvos for almost 20 years. Mostly in Oregon. I would NEVER purchase one again if my service location is Volvo of Tacoma.
Bad customer service, including the service manager. I requested the installation of Pilot assist. The first time they didn't do anything to my car so after 5 days I went and picked it up. Later Mr Fox ( the service manager) called me and apologize and sent a driver to pick it up, 2nd time 3 days and they couldn't do it and sent my car back (Dec 2021. I received another call once again saying, we have the solution we will call you to arrange the service, I've been waiting for a month now, left several messages. Still waiting
Terrible customer service! I left my car there for 4 days and yet nothing was ever done with it!!! And NO ONE ever called me, I was the one who had to call and find out what was going on with my vehicle. I missed 3 days of work and a doctor's appointment because they had my car. Left messages to make a formal complaint with the Service Department Manager but have yet to hear from anyone. Never going back there again.
