I purchased a 2024 Denali from Linus in early October of this year. The sales guy was fairly easy to deal with, not high pressure sales so I had a false sense of what was to come. The sales department was not the issue in my case. The issue came when they do the push to purchase the extras in the finance office. The finance guy was quick to explain how he and the GM were very good friends and he had come from a big dealership in Tampa. I should have known when he said that it was about to get shady. I don't typically buy extended warranty or service plans. He described what I now know as the GMC service plan. said it covered all maintenance for the next 5 years and was unique because there could be no upsells with this plan. I decided if that was true I would give it a try. What I found out when I checked with my local dealer is they slipped me a easy care plan that only pays $50 towards a service not the GMC plan verbally described in detail. Basic bait and switch. In Florida the law says they have to refund you if requested for 60 days. I requested a refund in writing 19 days later. They said in that email they would refund by check. The check never came. Obviously they don't really care what the statue says, they are not going to willingly refund the service plan. I reached out out the G.M. he Never even reached out to me and gave me the common curtesy of a call (he knows what is going on in the finance office, remember they are buddy's ) I disputed the charge on the CC ( I put down 5K with CC) they are still fighting it. Easy Care says the dealer ship has to cancel it, I can not...... Pretty sad they won't follow the Florida law. I have reported this to the State, weather it has teeth we will see I guess. If this saves someone else from bait and switch then it was worth it for me to write it. Remember buyer beware and just know this dealership will not do right by you when it comes down to it.
