Terrible terrible experience. Wonderful and friendly and helpful in the front office, but TERRIBLE in car preparation and fault discovery! Every car dealer washes the engine compartment, so the terrible oil leak I discovered a couple of days after purchase was not evident when I bought it. That said, the CarMax process for a car they purchase MUST have noticed the oil all over the outside of the engine and instead of addressing it they washed it all off so it would look good. They didn't even check the oil level with the dipstick!!! Four days after my purchase I got a low oil warning. Even after adding a QUART the oil level only rose to HALF the required range! You sold me a car down OVER A QUART OF OIL. So much for your quality inspection :-(. And just to put a cherry on top of that, the second key had a DEAD BATTERY in it. So you never even tried that key to make sure it was working! I am SO disappointed with CarMax now. I suspect this isn't just the Oceanside store that's falling WAY short of the quality you advertise so constantly. This is the fourth car I've purchased from CarMax and I guarantee it is the LAST. I used to recommend CarMax to friends but from now on I will adamantly recommend AGAINST it.
Better experience than I was expecting. Larry helped me through the paperwork with patience, clarity and humor. He even entertained me with card tricks and drawing as the car was getting cleaned and ready to go. Very pleasant time here. The whole staff was great.
Quincy helped me. I was having issues with getting my license and it took about 2 months but they still waited and shipped me the car I wanted.
Process was quick and easy. Larry my salesman was professional, helpful, responsive, and helped get me into the right vehicle
The purchase of my car went very smoothly. I walked around the parking lot and found the car.
