What Others Say

It was about average, nothing too special. I was really super excited about picking up my new vehicle here. But I was treated like a late dinner guest and yesterdays news. I had never gotten a vehicle like this and it was truly a once in a life time for me at age 59. I was hoping for the bow to take a pic with. Not even an offer. They did for my husband in their mich better facility in Irving when he picked up his truck there. They treated us like we were somebody. But not here in Tyler CarMax. Plus there was no one to install my plates they had. Just the one. They wanted me to drive all the way back for the other one and drove up 15$ worth of gas and no voucher for their lack of getting things done. I could of done that.myself.and save that gas for the lack of courtesy. I DID,buy a 26,000 $ vehicle from them; not a 500$ beater. I would recommend CarMax in general, for their professional customer service in Irving. Not the place in Tyler. They were just getting that paperwork done & getting me outta there. Thanks CarMax😎

Pretty bad experience. First thing was they had us wait almost a month for our car to ship with no updates as to where it was or what was going on. Once we got the arrival notification, we still couldn’t see it because it was going through “final inspections for another 2 weeks”. Once they finally called and assured everything was good with the car we went in and wasted time once again because there was an “issue with the back window” and the car was “never supposed to be sold in the first place”. Came back again a week later and they haven’t even ordered that part that needs to be fixed. I bought in anyway because I had been driving a rental for 2 months waiting on them and just needed something at this point. I pay the $16,000 and lo and behold 11 days later the check engine light is on and the car is giving me issues. So long story short, we had to wait about 2 months with no updates and they gave us 0 priority on fixing an issue and still sold us a trash car. Would give 0 stars if I could. Don’t recommend. Unless paying for your dinner to “make it up to you” would make you look past all that. 👎🏾

This dealership helped me pick out my very first car. I loved the experience there everyone was so nice and welcoming. I was given advice on what car to choose and what plans to pick.

Takes advantage of first time buyers Have car under 6 months and have put out $2000.00 in repairs. Have the Maxcare plan and nothing is covered. CarMax said it's not their problem after 90 days. Paying $4000.00 for Maxcare plan why doesn't it cover anything. One problem after another and no help, no compensation. Just take someone with you because they are crooks and they take advantage of young ( 20 ) first time buyers!!BE AWARE DONT GO HERE!!

They did not contact me at all regarding my request for information on a used Camaro.

If you live in Louisiana, calculate the registration costs on your own. They say they will figure everything for you, but you are responsible for the difference when they pay short. The check they sent was $200 less than what was needed to register my vehicle. A professional car company should know how to calculate registration costs in a state 90 miles away, or at least get within 3%, not 12%. Everyone I spoke with had the same attitude. You signed the contract now deal with it. There was no admittance of error or apology. Apparently this must be their common method of ripping off customers from neighboring states. Never again, CarMax!
