On August 15, 2025 I went in for a routine car inspection. My service advisor was Lu-Ann McBride. She checked me in and told me to wait in the waiting room. I waited an hour and a half for a simple inspection. Once the inspection Was completed she told me I had to pay the $37 fee. I paid the fee and was just given a copy of my receipt along with an automobile status report. She never explained to me in the report of the recommended necessary repairs that my vehicle needed. I called the dealership once I arrived home and asked to speak to Lu-ann. She was busy at the time of the phone call and I was told that she would give me a call back. Which she Never did. I ended up calling M they were rotted out. Alongside I needed both of my brake pads and rotors replaced which were at 2mm and 1mm from wear. Which if you know, cars is very dangerous. While speaking to Mr. Slappay, he was extremely rude and raised his voice at me. Speaking over me at times during our conversation. I proceeded to tell him how I felt about his staff Luanne, not having communication skills and letting me know of the necessary repairs that I extremely needed in my vehicle. From my perspective it seemed as if he didn’t want to have the conversation with me. Was “brushing off” my concerns and frustrations. I also brought to his attention that I never received a copy of the vehicle inspection report, which would have showed that I failed the inspection because of my tires. He had the nerve to tell me that customers don’t receive a copy of the report if they pass or fail that it goes directly to the DMV instead.(which I know for a fact is not true.) Since I failed I should have verbally been told by Lu-Ann and receive a copy of my failed inspection and or a copy in my vehicle of a rejection sticker. He was speaking to me as if I was an imbecile. Throughout the whole conversation, he did not make me feel comfortable or reassured me that he will help correct the problem. He then proceeded to tell me that I should not write a bad review base off my experience that day at the service department. Which infuriated me! I’ve never been spoken so poorly before by a manger that is suppose to help solve the problem. Both Mr. Slappay and Lu-Ann have horrendous communication skills. Followed by aggressive behavior. I Would highly recommend ANYONE who needs services done on their vehicle to STAY FAR FAR AWAY! You’re better off going to another dealership with Friendly Staff members & Mangers who’s main Priority is a customer Satisfaction.
The dealership is very clean and modern, the salesperson is informed and polite. The Deal was fair and trade in was sufficient to pay off my vehicle. No hassle or bate and switch going on here.
Criminal enterprise that illegally charges credit card surcharge for service payment, even when using a debit card. This illegal practice is under investigation by NYS Attorney. Avoid these thieves at all cost!!!!!
South Shore Kia does right by US again... My new Sorento is just amazing! From the minute I arrived I was greeted by Miami with a great smile for service on my previous vehicle. While waiting, I did my usual tour around the dealership. Spoke to Dan in finance and then off to Angel. Jungle green was my desired color either in the Sorento or the Telluride. There she was right in the showroom, just waiting for me to come check her out! Still undecided on my way home to go talk with my husband, I explain the situation. I call back and give the young lady that answered the phone a message for Angel. A few minutes later I get a call from Erick who was so attentive and thorough and made this a smooth transaction. Mike V. as always a pleasure to deal with. Not to mention this is my 2nd vehicle in 2 months both transactions with Erick. Thank you for everything ❤️
