I spent a week driving the midrange Pilot and came away impressed with this family hauler's smooth driving demeanor, easy-to-use features and cavernous interior. In my opinion, the 2024 Pilot is well worth considering next to newcomers like the Toyota Grand Highlander and Mazda CX-90, as well as established favorites like the Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade and Jeep Grand Cherokee L. As a three-row SUV, it has eight seats in its standard configuration, and a seven-seat layout is available by switching the second-row bench seat for two captains chairs. The first two rows of seats are supportive and have enough space for adults to sit comfortably. The third row, on the other hand, can fit adults in a pinch for shorter trips, but it is probably best left to kids for longer rides. There is a generous cargo capacity inside for a midsize SUV. This Honda has 18.6 cubic feet of space behind the third-row seats, 48.5 cubic feet with these seats folded and up to 87 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded.
