It won a bunch of awards! CarSifu Editors' Choice Awards -- The Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric won the ''Best Small Luxury Electric Crossover/SUV'' award in 2023. CarPlus.my Editor's Choice Awards -- The Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric won the ''Electric Vehicle of the Year'' award in 2023. Carlist.my Car of the Year Award -- The Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric won awards in 2023. U.S. News recommends bypassing charging this all-electric Volvo with a standard household-style outlet, as you'll be waiting up to 72 hours for a full charge. Using a 240-volt outlet or a similar Level 2 charger will provide a full charge in around eight hours, which is much more reasonable. For the fastest charging time, go to a public DC fast charging station, where you can go from a 10% to an 80% charge in roughly 37 minutes. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named the 2023 Volvo C40 Recharge a TOP SAFETY PICK+, the organization's highest award. The C40 Recharge earned the highest rating of Good in all six crash tests and for how well its headlights illuminate the road.
