The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is the off-road-focused trim of the Grand Cherokee lineup, designed for conquering trails while remaining a comfortable daily driver. Its exclusive features are meant to maximize off-road capability, making it more capable on rugged terrain than most other SUVs in its class. Off-road features Specialized 4x4 systems: The Trailhawk comes standard with the Quadra-Drive II 4x4 system, which includes a rear Electronic Limited-Slip Differential (ELSD) that can send 100% of torque to a single wheel if needed. Adjustable air suspension: A unique version of Jeep's Quadra-Lift air suspension was developed for the Trailhawk. It provides an increased maximum ground clearance of 11.3 inches, a significant bump from other trims, and can also lower the vehicle for easier entry/exit. Underbody protection: Standard skid plates protect the vehicle's underside, fuel tank, transfer case, and front suspension when driving over obstacles. Off-road tires: The Trailhawk features aggressive, all-terrain tires on 18-inch wheels for better traction on rugged surfaces. Trail Rated badge: The vehicle is certified with Jeep's Trail Rated badge, ensuring it has met specific standards for off-road performance. Additional features: Standard hill descent/ascent control, two red tow hooks in the front, and one in the rear. Standard: 3.6-liter V6 engine producing 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. It has a maximum towing capacity of 6,200 pounds. Vs. Limited The Trailhawk builds on the Limited trim by adding more off-road-focused equipment, like the specialized air suspension, 4x4 system, and underbody protection, at a slightly higher price. This Grand Cherokee is set up to flat tow with Roadmaster hitch system installed.
