* The McLaren 650S is a new model for 2015 but more of a refreshed take on the design of the MP4-12C using 25% new parts. Like before this comes in a coupe and spider variant, which has a retractable hard-top roof. It returns with a more powerful engine, now tuned to make 641hp. The twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 fires up at the push of a button, and it makes its presence known even at idle. Performance figures include a 0-60 mph time of 2.9 seconds, a top speed of 207MPH, and the quarter mile at 10.5 seconds at 139 MPH. The rear spoiler rises and functions as an air brake during hard snubs, a race-car element rarely seen on public road. The 650Sâ?? seven-speed, Graziano-supplied dual-clutch gearbox works with laser precision. You can control those gearshifts via a Formula 1-inspired rocker shift paddle mounted on the steering wheel. It rips through the gears without any fuss or excessive throttle-blipping. The combination of compact dimensions, precise steering, and predictable handling means that the 650S can be positioned precisely with great ease. The 650Sâ?? seats are comfortable, practical, and wide enough for about most drivers â?? giving a sporty, spunky look to compliment this lean racing inspired coupe. The 650S provides media, communications and entertainment systems. The trunk holds enough cargo space for several luggage bags. The instrumentation is modest and businesslike. McLarens lightweight approach is underlined by details such as the shifter paddle, which is one piece that stretches to both sides of the steering column.
