It is still recognizable as a striking blend of a luxurious sedan and an athletic coupe, but now with a seemingly endless palette of standard and optional equipment to choose from. The elongated, profile-enhancing nose, front fascia recasting and tail end tweaks such as the restyled taillights, painted in the subtle BMW color choices showcase how 2014 has been good to the 5 Series Gran Turismo. In addition, the new extended liftgate configuration opens up cargo capacity by a generous 2.1 cubic feet. Adaptive xenon headlamps are now standard, and LEDs are now an option. Inside, BMW is now offering the 5 Series Gran Turismo in the choice of Luxury Line, Modern Line, and M Sport. The interior is so inviting to all passengers that they will not want to get out at the end of the ride. The frameless doors scream high class and the rear passengers have phenomenal legroom. Plus, the driver can enjoy a larger center covered storage bin in 2014. Currently standard is the iDrive 4.2 Navigation system with rotary controller that includes a touchpad. This update is key to safety and technology. With a choice of either petrol or diesel engines, this eight-speed transmission vehicle tops out at 250mph boasting 225-hp. BMW xDrive and Dynamic Stability Control keep the high speeds safe as the car adapts to existing road conditions offering traction, stability, and agility.
