Steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters allow the driver to select gears manually when a more engaged driving experience is desired. The front-wheel-drive platform provides predictable handling and efficient everyday operation. EPA estimates of 24 MPG city and 35 MPG highway make this Sonata well suited for commuting, highway travel, school transportation, and regular daily driving. The Active ECO system can adjust vehicle operation to support more economical driving. As an SE model, this Sonata receives a sport-tuned suspension with MacPherson struts up front, an independent multi-link rear suspension, gas-pressurized shocks, and front and rear stabilizer bars. Engine-speed-sensitive power steering and four-wheel disc brakes contribute to responsive road manners and confident stopping performance. Sparkling Ruby Mica gives the Sonata a rich, distinctive appearance. Exterior highlights include 18-inch Hyper Silver alloy wheels, P225/45R18 performance tires, projector-style headlights with automatic on-and-off operation, fog lights, a dark chrome grille, chrome hood garnish, chrome window trim, chrome-accented door handles, and dual exhaust outlets with chrome tips. Heated body-color power mirrors include a timer function, while speed-sensitive variable intermittent windshield wipers adapt to changing driving conditions.
