The 2007-2009 Shelby GT500 represents the first generation of the (S197) Shelby GT500 platform. These vehicles were a major departure from the prior Fox platform SVT Cobras. The S197 platform was engineered to be significantly more rigid. This rigid platform combined with the 5.4L Supercharged engine delivered a much more powerful, controlled and thrilling driving experience. The 2008 Shelby GT500 features 500 hp, 480 lb ft of torque, and a top speed of 159 mph. The engine is an SVT hand-built, supercharged 5.4L DOHC unit with forged internals for durability. The 2007 models were distinguished by the Standard Halogen headlamps. The SVT-tuned suspension touts KYB Sport dampers and a Torsen limited-slip rear differential. No mods ever. 99% factory stock.
