Seller's Comments
The SL by Mercedes Benz has been the embodiment of not only early on sports car racing but, sophistication, class and performance for more than 70 years. However, we can actually attribute the street version to the importer Max Hoffman for suggesting such a car, just like he suggested the Speedster by Porsche, the stripped down version of the 356. The Sport Light or SL has been highly successful in every aspect and the R230 from 2001 through 2011 is no exception. This particular very well taken SL55 AMG that we are pleased to represent comes from very good ownership and is in very good condition. Paint, Interior, underside, mechanicals and electronics all seem to be in good working order. The car starts, stops, shifts and goes down the road swiftly and comfortably. The top operates as it should as do all the lights and gauges. The SL has some recent service records along with both factory keys and owners discs. The aftermarket wheels really give this car a nice stance and the tires provide a very nice handling and ride. This ride cost $133,000 twenty years ago before taxes! It is fraction of the cost but still has the look.
