When Jaguar unveiled the XK8 at the Geneva Motor Show in 1996, it was their first all-new grand tourer in decades and the first Jaguar to use a V8 engine since the Daimler 250 back in the 1960s. The platform it was built on was shared with the Aston Martin DB7, which tells you everything you need to know about the level of car Jaguar had in mind when they designed it. This one is finished in British Racing Green with a tan power convertible top, one of the most classic and correct color combinations you can put on a Jaguar, and the interior carries it all the way through with tan leather and wood trim throughout. Under the hood is the 4.0-liter 32-valve V8 backed by a five-speed automatic, producing 290 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque. It pulls smoothly and quietly from any speed and settles into a refined, unhurried cruising character that is exactly what a car like this should feel like. This is not a car you drive aggressively, it is a car you enjoy completely, and the XK8 does that better than almost anything in its class. Inside, the tan leather interior is well appointed and comfortable with power and memory seats, heated seats, cruise control, a telescoping and tilting steering column, valet mode, and power windows, locks, and mirrors. The wood trim throughout the cabin gives it the kind of warmth and richness that has always defined Jaguar interiors, and this one has been well looked after. What makes this particular car stand out from most XK8s on the market is the documented service history behind it. Recent work includes a new top latch, hoses, and cylinders in 2024, a thermostat and housing, water pump, radiator cap, coolant, spark plugs, and a full tune up in 2025, and fresh brakes in 2026.
