In the spring of 1999, Chevrolet reintroduced the Monte Carlo with a completely new design and was awarded the prestigious honor of pacing the 83rd Indianapolis 500. Just two months later, it returned to lead the field at the 6th Annual Brickyard 400. To commemorate these events, Chevrolet produced only 2,222 Pace Car replicaseach one loaded with exclusive features and high-impact visual cues. Finished in its original Torch Red paint, this example presents in exceptional condition and consistently draws praise and admiration at shows. Under the hood is the tried-and-true 3.8-liter SFI V6, producing 200 horsepower and paired with a smooth-shifting automatic transmission with overdrive. This particular car is a well-maintained, three-owner vehicle with just 57,000 original miles, and it was built at GMs Oshawa plant in Ontario, Canada. The Pace Car Package sets this Monte Carlo apart from standard SS models with its distinctive decals, including the iconic Tasmanian Devil mascot, SS door panel emblems, Bowtie-embroidered headrests, and Torch Red leather interior accents. Its also outfitted with a full ground effects kit, a racing-inspired rear spoiler, stainless steel exhaust tips, and upgraded 17-inch OEM-style aluminum wheels wrapped in 225/55/17 tires, offering a more aggressive stance than the original 16-inch wheels.
